Senior Applications Engineer
Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $100,000/year (higher compensation available based on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to support the design and application of electrical power distribution solutions for data center projects. In this role, you will work with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to develop engineered solutions, provide technical expertise, and support projects from proposal through installation and startup.
This position is ideal for an engineer with experience in data center electrical infrastructure and a strong understanding of power distribution systems.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop engineered solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare customer proposals, submittal packages, and technical documentation.
  • Support projects from order entry through manufacturing, installation, and field startup.
  • Develop drawings, compliance documentation, and engineering submittals for customer review.
  • Provide technical guidance on power distribution equipment and Static Transfer Switch (STS) applications.
  • Assist with troubleshooting during equipment installation, commissioning, and operation.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product training for customers, consultants, and channel partners.
  • Participate in product testing, application development, and competitive product evaluations.
  • Share customer feedback with engineering and product development teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Travel to customer locations, project sites, and data centers approximately 25-35% of the time.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in applications engineering, field engineering, or design engineering supporting data center electrical infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, including:
    • UL 891 switchboards
    • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
    • Static Transfer Switches (STSs)
    • Redundancy strategies such as N+1 and 2N
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.
