Overview

The Senior Application Developer designs, develops, and enhances solutions across the company's ERP system, Custom Compensation System, SQL Server environment, and intranet applications. The role includes building and maintaining custom ERP modules, integrations, and workflow automations using SQL Server, Power Apps, IDP, and other enterprise technologies. Responsibilities also include SQL Server DBA functions such as maintenance, patching, performance tuning, and security. The position supports ETL processes and reporting tools, including SSRS, Excel analytics, and Power BI, and contributes to automation initiatives involving RPA, AI tools, Azure services, and Power Platform solutions. The Senior Application Developer also provides technical leadership and guidance to developers working on ERP customizations.

Responsibilities

Application & System Development 

  • Develop custom applications and enhancements to existing systems. 
  • Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SQL Server objects (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, etc.). 
  • Create and maintain business-layer objects within the ERP system. 
  • Analyze, design, and maintain ERP forms, scripts, and related interfaces. 
  • Perform technical analysis of customization requests to determine feasibility and effort. 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Mentor and support other developers working on ERP and application customizations. 
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and users at varying technical levels. 

Production Support & Operations 

  • Debug and troubleshoot production issues across assigned systems. 
  • Research, test, and apply patches to keep systems current and aligned with business needs. 
  • Document systems, requirements, instructions, and processes related to IT applications. 
  • Perform and support MoSCoW deployment activities (Must/Should/Could/Won't prioritization framework). 

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) & Deployment 

  • Adhere to the company's Software Development Life Cycle and testing standards. 
  • Use collaborative version-control tools such as TFS or similar systems. 
  • Deploy code between environments as directed by team leads. 
  • Recommend testing criteria and assist with validation when appropriate. 
Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant work experience, including: 
  • SQL Server or similar database platforms (more current versions preferred) 
  • Strong experience with stored procedures, functions, and views 
  • Strong experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, including automation or database operations integration 
  • SSRS or similar reporting technologies 
  • Source control technologies such as TFS, Visual SourceSafe, etc. 
  • .NET / Visual Basic OOP (web programming a plus, not required) 
  • Developing, supporting, and working with APIs for system integration 
  • 2+ years of experience working with an ERP system(Infor Syteline is a significant plus) 

Required Knowledge & Capabilities 

  • Extensive experience working in a similar development or systems role. 
  • Ability to run system traces/log files to diagnose data flow issues across internal systems. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for data errors and incorrect reporting. 
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, preferably in manufacturing or sales support. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
