Job description

Within Anaplan's Workforce Applications team, the Sr. Application Developer designs and delivers out-of-the-box and extensible solutions on the Anaplan platform that support planning, forecasting, and reporting use cases across industries. These include Strategic Workforce Planning, Compensation Modeling, Operational Workforce Planning, Organizational Design, and other workforce-focused applications. 

In this role, you will partner with Product Management to define business requirements and platform capabilities, translate those requirements into scalable solution architectures, and work alongside model builders to bring those solutions to life. You will also collaborate with technical Product Managers to identify platform dependencies and enhancements needed to deliver world-class products. Additionally, you will work closely with GTM and Professional Services teams to maximize adoption and ensure customers fully leverage the capabilities of these solutions. 

This role requires excellent collaboration skills, a deep understanding of workforce planning use cases, HR source systems, the Anaplan platform, model building expertise, and an innovative mindset combined with strong attention to detail and deadlines.  

Your Impact 

  • Build and deliver Workforce Applications by leveraging the suite of Anaplan platform components (including model and UX building, user management, data integration, reporting, PlanIQ, etc.) by: 
    • Converting business requirements into innovative and scalable solutions, partnering with Product Management.  Translating business requirements to technical terminology to ensure the product is built to follow best practices.  
    • Working with complex requirements to design and build the application and UX to meet agreed upon standards. 
    • Ensuring the user experience developed meets UX standards, is intuitive, and easy to use. 
    • Participating in quality assurance, updating and refining as needed, through successful delivery.  Guide performance testing and tuning to ensure the application can scale.  
    • Upgrading applications with new Anaplan platform capabilities and features, as driven by prospects, customers and partner feedback. 
    • Incorporating the latest innovations delivered on the Anaplan platform resulting in delightful user experiences. 
  • Partner with Center of Excellence Advisors, Product Management, Professional Services and GTM Enablement Teams to ensure the Workforce COE delivers: 
    • Compelling conceptual demos and all supporting content including training and guides. 
    • Full configuration and implementation of content, documentation, and best practices to Anaplan's delivery Teams. 
    • Ongoing Workforce Application improvements and optimizations. 
  • Act as a trusted internal and external knowledge expert for your Workforce Applications. 
  • Potentially support Sales and Customer success with prospect and customer opportunities and escalations, including enabling Anaplan partners. 

Key Metrics 

  • Meet the new release and upgrade project deadlines for Workforce Applications.
  • Adoption and successful deployment of Workforce Applications from enablement by Anaplan Teams through Customer implementations. 

Your Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of diverse experience as an Anaplan Model Builder, deploying workforce, finance or operational use cases. At least Level 3 Certification.  Master Anaplanner preferred.
  • Able to bring an engineering discipline to Anaplan applications - ensuring scalability, configurable functionality and the ability to manage your application build activities through completion and delivery.
  • Ideal but not required:
    • Experience with some of the wider facets of the Anaplan platform (PlanIQ, Optimizer, ADO, Workflow and Polaris, etc).
    • Experience with headcount planning, strategic workforce planning and skills-based capacity planning
    • Understanding of product management, GTM operations and enablement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and knowledge-sharing skills, with a results-driven perspective, able to collaborate across teams, with a focus on contributing deliverables of the highest possible quality and impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
