Senior Software Engineer - IBM ITX (ANSI X12) - Transportation
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX) and ANSI X12 EDI transactions to design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions for the transportation and logistics industry. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building scalable EDI solutions, translating business requirements into robust ITX maps, and supporting mission-critical B2B integrations with carriers, shippers, customers, and third-party logistics providers.
This role requires technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance EDI solutions.
Required Technical Skills
7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise integration solutions.
5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX).
Strong experience developing and maintaining IBM ITX maps.
Deep understanding of ANSI X12 EDI standards.
Experience working with transportation and logistics EDI transactions, including:
204 - Motor Carrier Load Tender
210 - Motor Carrier Freight Details and Invoice
214 - Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message
990 - Response to Load Tender
997/999 - Functional Acknowledgments
820 - Payment Order/Remittance Advice

Experience integrating with AS2, SFTP, FTP, MQ, REST APIs, or other B2B communication protocols.
Strong understanding of EDI validation, acknowledgments, envelopes (ISA/GS/ST), and partner-specific implementation guides.
Experience troubleshooting production EDI issues and transaction failures.
Familiarity with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file transformations.
Experience using version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS).
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Java, Python, or scripting languages.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
