What you will be doing:

  • Work and learn from some of our award-winning transportation team leaders: WTS Minnesota Woman of the Year, ASCE MN Outstanding Engineer of the Year and the 2025 Young Transportation Professional of the Year

  • Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple projects for a variety of clients

  • Maintaining close relationships with clients throughout development of projects and after completion

  • Managing, mentoring, and working with staff as needed to provide a positive team environment

  • Maintaining an understanding of relevant regulatory programs, funding requirements, design standards and procedures through active participation in continuing education programs and professional associations

  • Representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings

  • Prepare project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects

  • Present proposals to clients, interview for projects, and select project teams

  • Determining major project design decisions in conjunction with client

  • Performing complex design calculations

  • Checking accuracy of completed work and being responsible for ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota

  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, business development excursions, on-site inspections/visits, occasional overnight travel may be required

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment

  • Experience in highway design and construction of MNDOT projects

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Design experience in any of these; Microstation/GeoPak/ORD (Open Roads Designer)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of managing project design teams

  • A minimum of six (6) years design experience

  • Supervisory and/or mentoring experience in the related field

  • Active participation in professional organizations, conferences and technical publications

  • Previous experience with a Civil Engineering Consulting firm doing design or project management
