Job description

The Senior Anesthesia Technician assists the anesthesia care provider with acquiring, preparing, and using equipment, supplies, and medications during the administration of anesthesia. The incumbent assists with special procedures and provides support for routine and complex surgical cases
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
2. Maintains anesthesia medications according to facility's needs.
3. Cleans, organizes, and maintains anesthesia workroom.
4. Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra, and post anesthesia, while taking into consideration age-specific issues.
5. Performs basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment and reports defective equipment and malfunctions to appropriate staff.
6. Maintains quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
7. Documents preventative maintenance and preserves quality records.
8. Assists with transport of patients and laboratory specimens and travels between facilities or other treatment locations.
9. Builds and maintains effective working relationships with anesthesia department staff, and works collaboratively with nurse circulators, and surgical, service, and equipment technicians.
10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate degree in relevant field required
Certification and Licensing: Not applicable
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
- Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
