Job Description
Job Title: CV Anesthesia Physician

Description:
Current need for a full-time CV Anesthesia physician to start immediately.
Privileges can be granted in accordance with local policies.
Shift times are 7am - 5pm for days and 5pm - 7am for CV beeper call.
Weekday and weekend call as needed.
Average daily cases for CV anesthesia range from 3 to 4.
There is no CRNA support for CV call shifts.
Anesthetizing sites include 12 ORs and 9 non-operating rooms.
The number of surgical cases per year is approximately 9,000.
The anesthesia model includes 9 MDs and 16 APPs, with a care team approach.
MD to CRNA ratio is 1:3.
Physicians perform 99% supervision, with self-performing cases being uncommon.
Physicians are required to be present for induction and emergence and participate in post-operative care and pre-operative evaluations.
Practice is hands-on.
Types of cases include Level II Trauma, Orthopedic, Spine, Vascular, limited Neuro, Endovascular, and Electrophysiology.
No obstetrics or transplants are involved.
Cardiac case load includes 10-12 cases per week, totaling 40-50 per month, with additional electrophysiology cases.
In-house call shifts start at 3pm and run until 7am.
MDs will have CRNA support for general OR, trauma, and interventional radiology cases.
Post-call day off is available if desired.
EMR includes Medaxion for anesthesia charting and Meditech for orders and patient record reviews.
Leadership structure includes a Regional Medical Director, Chief Anesthesiologist, and Chief CRNA.
