The Security Sales Manager primarily focuses on acquiring new clients and increasing sales, while the Security Account Manager concentrates on maintaining and growing existing client relationships. Both roles require security industry knowledge and relevant certifications, but their day-to-day activities and objectives differ significantly.
As a security sales manager, your responsibilities include leading a sales team, building a group of representatives who can meet and exceed revenue goals, and ensuring full customer satisfaction. You train new sales reps, oversee weekly and monthly progress towards a determined sales quota, manage your assigned territory, and develop a customer base. Working with security-focused businesses, you may sell products such as alarm systems, conduct site surveys to determine the scope of each job, and give clients an accurate bid regarding time, materials, and labor cost. Other duties include performing data mining, presenting products or services professionally, working to maintain and increase profitability, and ensuring retention of customers and sales reps. You are also expected to monitor the marketing efforts of each salesperson and measure their effectiveness to make changes if needed. You may work closely with other company departments to ensure the overall business marketing efforts and strategies are congruent.

The Johnson Controls Security Sales Manager is the leader of the commercial security sales team in one of Johnson Controls field offices. This role is responsible for building a team of highly productive sales representatives that can meet and exceed revenue expectations, as well as the needs of our existing and potential customers. The Security Sales Manager is responsible to drive Johnson Controls Corporate Sales and Marketing initiatives through the territories for which they are responsible. These include business and customer development, territory management, data mining, professional presentation, and product sales. Additionally, this individual is responsible for job and channel profitability, revenue per user ("RPU") growth of our customers, and retention of both customers and sales representatives. This position requires a strong, principle centered leader.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $117,500-$183,000 (Salary to be determined by the education,experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignmentwith market data.)
