Siemens Smart Security Sales Internship
Location: New York City area office, located in Morristown, New Jersey
Undergraduate: Rising Senior, graduating between December 2027 - May 2028
Duration: 10 weeks
Start Dates: May 17, May 24, June 7, or June 14, 2027
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Today's businesses face a range of key security challenges, which can include anticipating threats, securing complex sites, controlling access to facilities, and monitoring multiple locations, not to mention the need for notifying occupants and stakeholders in the event of an emergency.
As a global leader, Siemens can provide security equipment, services and solutions to meet their customers' needs which include video management, access control, security platforms and mass notification. We can help keep our customers' security systems running smoothly by providing services such as security assessment and planning, testing and inspecting and preventative maintenance services.

What will I do as a Smart Security Sales Intern?
  • Work alongside Sales Managers and Sales Executives within the local branch office.
  • Assist the sales team with lead generation, prospecting, and account outreach.
  • Support the preparation of sales presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Help manage CRM data by tracking leads and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Shadow sales calls and meetings to learn effective sales techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, other business units, departments, etc.) to support customer engagement
  • Analyze sales performance data and provide insights into driving growth.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas for improving sales processes.
  • Participate in sales related activities (learning how to prospect, go-to-market, build B2B relationships, on-the-job training and shadowing, etc.)

• Rotate through our core business segments, which include Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, Security and Energy/Sustainability Systems.
What will my responsibilities be as a Smart Security Sales Intern?
  • Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging Siemens world-class digital service delivery as a key differentiator.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Help prospect for new customers and engage with existing customers on new offerings.
  • Visit customer sites with both Solutions and Services Sales Teams.
  • Develop value-based proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations.
  • Work with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources to obtain the sale.
  • Attend job take-offs and turnover meetings.
  • Actively participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.

The goal of this internship program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where you may be interested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation.
To apply for the Smart Security Sales Internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Education: Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university.
  • Majors: Pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy/Sustainability, Built Environment, Construction Management or Business Administration, Sales/Marketing with a strong technical engineering aptitude.
  • Preferred: Participation in a school sponsored sales engineering club/organization, pursuing a professional sales certificate or similar.
  • Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August).
  • Travel: Candidates must have their own reliable transportation to get to and from customer locations beyond just commuting to the office.
  • Relocation: No relocation assistance or housing stipend is provided. Must be willing and able to work at the branch office location and surrounding local area.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship. This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Benefits:
The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $28 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
