Screed Operator

A Screed Operator is a skilled construction professional responsible for operating the screed component of an asphalt paving machine to ensure asphalt is placed at the proper thickness, grade, and smooth finish. This role is essential in delivering high-quality road and pavement surfaces by maintaining consistency, meeting project specifications, and working closely with the paving crew to ensure efficient and safe jobsite operations.

Job Duties:

  • Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine
  • Control asphalt thickness, smoothness, and grade
  • Work with the paving crew to keep projects on schedule
  • Help maintain equipment and keep it in good working condition
  • Assist with other equipment or general labor when needed

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of experience as a Screed Operator
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work outdoors in Arizona heat
  • Must be willing to travel within Arizona with overnight stays as needed
  • Must be able to work overtime (now through October)
