Job Title: Asphalt Screed Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate will operate screed attachments on an asphalt paver to distribute, level, and smooth asphalt for roads, parking lots, and other surfaces. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine to control the thickness, width, and surface texture of the asphalt mat.
  • Monitor and maintain consistent material flow and compactness during paving operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the paving crew and other equipment operators for optimal workflow and safety.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform minor maintenance, and report mechanical issues as needed.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, job specifications, and grade markings.
  • Adhere strictly to all company and regulatory safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Assist with other duties on the paving crew as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating asphalt paving and screed equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
