Arrow Construction is now hiring experienced Screed Operator for our office located in Sacramento, CA. We specialize in wet and dry utilities, directional drilling, potholing, patch paving, and concrete restoration work throughout Northern California.
Job Summary:
The Screed Operator is responsible for operating and controlling the screed on an asphalt paving machine to ensure proper thickness, smoothness, and grade of asphalt. This position works closely with the paving crew to maintain quality paving standards and ensure safe and efficient job site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine to control the depth and width of asphalt placement.
  • Monitor material flow and make adjustments to maintain proper thickness and smoothness.
  • Ensure asphalt is evenly distributed and meets project specifications.
  • Communicate with the paving crew and equipment operators to coordinate paving operations.
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while working on job sites.
  • Assist with general paving duties as needed. 
Requirements:
  • Experience operating a screed on asphalt paving equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and grade control.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent communication between field and office.
  • May require extended hours during peak construction periods.
