Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and production-driven operator. You must know how to run a screed, control mat quality, and maintain proper grade and thickness.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Asphalt Screed Operator who can contribute immediately and operate at a high level. Position Overview As an Asphalt Screed Operator, you will play a critical role in our paving operations. Your primary responsibility is to operate the screed to ensure a smooth, level, and consistent asphalt surface.

You will work closely with the paving crew to meet production targets and job specifications. Key Responsibilities Operate the screed on asphalt paving equipment to achieve proper width, depth, and finish Control mat quality, including smoothness, grade, and consistency Monitor asphalt temperature and material flow Adjust screed settings to meet required grades and slopes Work with the paver operator and crew to maintain consistent production Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on screed and paving equipment Read and interpret plans, specifications, and job requirements Maintain production pace and meet job timelines Communicate with foreman, project managers, and crew members Safety Follow all jobsite safety requirements Maintain compliance with Washington L&I / WISHA (WAC 296-155) Maintain clean and organized jobsites Qualifications Proven experience as an Asphalt Screed Operator Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work in varying weather conditions Flexible schedule including extended hours and weekends Valid drivers license (CDL preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Pay $ 28.00 - 39.00 per hour What We Offer Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401K Paid time off Opportunities for growth and advancement Schedule Monday to Friday Weekend availability Extended hours as required
