As a General Operator at J T Russell & Sons, you will have the opportunity to safely operate various pieces of equipment to achieve precise location and grading as outlined in the plans. In addition to operating equipment, you must be willing to adapt and perform other duties as directed by the grading foreman. Requirements for this Grading Operator job

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • 2 + years experience working with earth moving equipment, i.e. dozer, backhoe, etc.
  • Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
  • Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair heavy equipment
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
  • Willing to perform some manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor
  • Valid, insurable driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the Albemarle Office or Jobsite
