Job Description

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE / ROLE

Tradewind Aviation is looking for a Manager of Scheduling to oversee two Scheduling functions; (1) Crew; (2) Aircraft. The Manager's primary responsibility is to lead and inspire the Scheduling team to maximize efficiencies both in schedule and process. The Manager is responsible for the efficient utilization of Tradewind Aviation's fleet of aircraft.


The Manager role is part of the Scheduling and Dispatch Leadership Team and will work cross-functionally with the Sales and Service teams. Together, this lead will orchestrate the availability of crew and aircraft to meet demand. Once trips are booked, the Manager will lead a function that is responsible for continuously ensuring the most efficient use of resources to deliver top-level service to Tradewind Aviation's customers in a rapidly changing environment.


Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive candidates will be able to report on-site daily throughout the Oxford, CT campus.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, mentor and coach Scheduling Supervisor(s) and team members, ensuring a positive, collaborative work environment. Foster individual growth through regular feedback, performance management and career development.
  • Cultivate a customer-focused team culture where employees anticipate and exceed client needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Lead the hiring process by conducting interviews, selecting top talent and ensure new hires are effectively onboarded and integrated into the team.
  • Continuously improve training materials and programs to enhance employee performance.
  • Mange the scheduling of full-time, part-time and on-call team members to meet operational needs.
  • Complete team payroll biweekly.
  • Address seasonal staffing changes and ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
  • Work with team members to achieve daily, monthly and annual goals.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure SOP compliance, smooth workflow and alignment of objectives.
  • Foster communication to maintain efficiency across the organization.
  • Regularly evaluate and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Involve team in process improvement to enhance performance, compliance and efficiency.
  • Participate in the Operations safety management system data analysis to evaluate trends and improve safety and performance metrics.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Scheduling and Dispatch.
  • Regular on-call responsibilities.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • 3+ years of Scheduling and Dispatch experience
  • FAA Dispatch license preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong multi-tasking capability
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with aviation scheduling software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
