Title: SAP Payroll Consultant (with MS Access)

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid 3 days a week onsite)

Job Description

The SAP Payroll Consultant is responsible for analyzing HR and payroll business requirements and delivering effective SAP HCM solutions. The role includes configuration and support of key SAP HCM modules Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), and Payroll while leveraging Microsoft Access for HR/payroll data analysis, reporting, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accurate payroll processing and statutory compliance. The consultant collaborates with HR stakeholders to design and implement end-to-end HR solutions across compensation, benefits, payroll, reporting, and statutory compliance. Core responsibilities include system configuration, integration with SAP and third-party HR systems, data analysis using MS Access, comprehensive testing, user training, and post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong experience as an SAP Payroll Functional Consultant with deep SAP HCM expertise.
  • Configure and support SAP HCM PA, OM, and Payroll modules.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Access databases, queries, forms, and reports to support payroll analysis, reconciliation, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize MS Access to extract, validate, reconcile, and analyze HR and payroll data from SAP and other enterprise systems.
  • Apply solid understanding of HR and payroll schemas, rules, wage types, and PCRs.
  • Ensure compliance with HR statutory and legal requirements, including country-specific payroll reporting.
  • Lead and support full lifecycle SAP HCM implementations and ongoing HR production support.
  • Translate HR and payroll business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
  • Integrate SAP HCM with FI/CO, SuccessFactors, and other HR systems.
  • Manage HR master data, infotypes, and organizational structures.
  • Execute unit, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP development teams.
  • Perform payroll reconciliation, retroactive accounting, and issue resolution.
  • Utilize SAP HCM reporting tools and Microsoft Access to produce operational, compliance, and audit reports.
  • Support HR data migration, cutover planning, and go-live activities.
  • Apply understanding of SAP HCM security, HR authorizations, and data privacy standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as an SAP Payroll/HR Consultant.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Payroll configuration, schemas, and payroll rules.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Access, including database design, queries, forms, reports, data import/export, and data analysis.
  • Experience using MS Access for payroll reconciliation, HR reporting, data validation, and audit support.
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll processes, tax regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency with Payroll Control Center (PCC), wage types, and PCRs.
  • Experience across the full SAP Payroll/HCM implementation lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Payroll, IT, and business teams.
