Position Summary

We are conducting a search for a Sales Manager to provide strategic leadership and direction for the company’s sales initiatives while actively managing and growing a portfolio of key customer accounts.

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, supporting long-term business development efforts, and aligning sales strategies with overall company objectives. The Sales Manager will serve as a key leadership partner within the organization and work directly with the President to support sales performance, market expansion, customer retention, and overall commercial growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives.

  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of strategic customer accounts.

  • Support long-term business development and market expansion initiatives.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and accountability to sales personnel.

  • Support employee development and performance improvement efforts.

  • Conduct customer visits, business reviews, and relationship-building activities.

  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to support customer success.

  • Monitor sales performance metrics, CRM activity, and account development.

  • Support CRM utilization, pipeline visibility, and account development efforts.

  • Assist with pricing discussions, margin management, and strategic account planning.

  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends.

  • Participate in hiring, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary processes in partnership with Human Resources.

  • Maintain forecasting and budgeting responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of industrial B2B sales and/or sales leadership experience preferred.

  • Previous leadership, sales management, or team development experience preferred.

  • Experience within industrial distribution, welding supply, compressed gases, manufacturing, or a related industry strongly preferred.

  • Strong relationship management and business development skills.

  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound business judgment.

  • Experience managing sales activity, pipeline visibility, account development, pricing discussions, and customer relationships.

  • Comfortable working closely with executive leadership, operations, customer service, and sales personnel.

Leadership Responsibilities

This position will have direct leadership responsibility for approximately five sales staff members. Inside sales and customer service functions operate within the same department and will report into this position.

The Sales Manager will also participate in pricing discussions and maintain pricing approval authority within established company guidelines.

Work Environment

This role includes a combination of office, customer site, and industrial/manufacturing environments. The position requires regular interaction with customers, vendors, operations personnel, and executive leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, speaking, and use of hands.

  • Ability to travel locally for customer visits, meetings, and business development activities.

  • Occasional lifting of office materials, product samples, or related materials up to 50 pounds.
