Job description

Job Summary:
Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical sales support to the Sales team and mid to large Enterprise and Wholesale customers.  The Senior Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users, as well as identify technical issues to assure customer satisfaction through all relationships throughout the sales cycle.  This employee will be responsible for collaborating with Project Management to deliver network solutions in a timely manner and within budget, actively participating in the top-level configuration of network systems, assisting Marketing and Sales departments with defining product specifications and preparation of technical and price proposals.  Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships, identifying opportunities and developing technical complex strategic solutions to prospects and customers, creating and presenting technical applications, conducting executive briefings and training Sales on emerging technologies, solutions and industry trends. 

Qualification Requirements:
• Education: Four year degree in a relevant engineering or technology field preferred.  Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry experience will be considered.
• Experience Level:  7+ years of relevant engineering experience in network architecture, including design, developing and implementing enterprise level networks.
• Self-motivated, able to exercise independent judgment.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
• Effective customer communications and customer service skills.
• Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.

Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of the following areas: Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Optical Networking, LAN/MAN/WAN technologies.
• Voice Network technologies and protocols (VoIP, SIP, MGCP)
• Access technologies (FTTH, DSL, DOCSIS, MetroEthernet)
• Transport technologies (Ethernet, DWDM, SONET, ROADM)
