Commercial Operations Analyst - Sales Incentive Administration & Analytics

Role Overview

The Senior Sales Incentive & Commercial Analytics Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the design, administration, and ongoing governance of Sales Incentive Plans (SIPs), while also providing analytical and modeling support across Commercial Operations. This role blends operational execution with analytical rigor, ensuring incentive outcomes are accurate, explainable, and aligned to business strategy.

Over time, this role may flex beyond SIP administration into broader commercial analytics, planning support, and performance modeling as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Incentive Plan Administration

  • Administer sales incentive plans across multiple roles, ensuring accurate calculation, validation, and timely payout of incentives.
  • Maintain incentive plan documentation, payout logic, rate tables, accelerators, caps, holds, and governance rules.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Deal Desk to ensure incentive rules align with bookings, renewals, pricing, and revenue recognition policies.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation of incentive logic, assumptions, adjustments, and approvals.
  • Support monthly corporate controls and plan governance, including data validation, issue resolution and field support, exception handling, adjustments, and audit trails.
  • Support budget, forecast, and accrual processes related to sales incentives.
  • Prepare incentive-related reporting for leadership, including but not limited to attainment, payout curves, and variance analysis.

Modeling & Analytics

  • Build and maintain models to support incentive plan design, quota setting, and scenario analysis.
  • Analyze historical performance to assess plan effectiveness, earnings distribution, variability and alignment to company goals.
  • Support modeling related to bookings, renewals, productivity, and capacity as needed by Commercial Operations.
  • Translate complex models into clear insights and narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

Commercial Operations Support

  • Provide ad hoc analytical support for planning cycles, forecasts, performance reviews, and executive readouts.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Commercial Ops tooling, dashboards, and processes.
  • Support governance forums by preparing data, analysis, and recommendations related to incentives and commercial performance.
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and decision logic to ensure transparency and repeatability.

Skills & Qualifications


Required

  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, including advanced Excel.
  • Experience administering or supporting variable compensation, incentives, or performance-based programs.
  • Ability to work with complex datasets and reconcile data across multiple systems (e.g., CRM, finance, incentive platforms).
  • Strong attention to detail with a bias toward accuracy and auditability.
  • Ability to explain complex calculations and trade-offs in clear, business-friendly language.
  • Familiarity with sales performance metrics (bookings, renewals, GRR, productivity, pipeline).

Preferred

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business models.
  • Exposure to Salesforce.com and incentive compensation tools.
  • Experience supporting planning cycles, quota setting, or commercial forecasting.
