Route Sales Representatives are professionals responsible for selling and delivering products along designated routes, typically for companies in the food, beverage, or consumer goods industries. They build relationships with customers, restock shelves, take orders, and ensure that displays are properly maintained. In addition to driving and delivering products, they often seek opportunities to increase sales and resolve customer issues. Their role combines elements of sales, customer service, and logistics, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.

What does a route sales representative do?

The responsibilities of a route sales representative include selling and delivering products to clients using company vehicles, loading from the warehouse and unloading at their homes as needed. In this career, you must develop new leads in the field, monitor customer feedback, and handle problems experienced by clients related to the products in a friendly and efficient manner. Other job duties include ensuring on-time delivery, making sure the orders are correct, and communicating throughout all aspects of the transaction, offering support when issues arise. As a route sales representative, you are expected to meet sales goals and promote overall route growth as well.
