Are you a proven ocean freight sales professional who knows how to identify opportunities, win new customers, and turn relationships into long-term business?

Fr. Meyer's Sohn (FMS) is looking for a Trade Route Development Manager to expand ocean freight business across the U.S./Canada Europe and India Subcontinent (ISC) trade lanes.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys hunting for new business, developing strategic customer relationships, and having a direct impact on revenue growth. With a competitive base salary and uncapped commission, your earning potential grows with your success.

Your Role

In this position, you will be responsible for expanding FMS's customer base and developing new opportunities within key international trade lanes. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to create effective, competitive freight solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new ocean freight customers.
  • Develop business opportunities for FCL, LCL, and project cargo services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, importers, exporters, manufacturers, and strategic partners.
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through closing.
  • Partner with pricing and operations teams to create customized and competitive logistics solutions.
  • Stay informed on freight rates, carrier capacity, market conditions, and industry trends.
  • Develop strategies to expand business within assigned trade lanes and customer accounts.
  • Conduct customer meetings and participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Consistently work toward and exceed sales and revenue objectives.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in ocean freight sales, freight forwarding, logistics sales, or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and consistently achieve sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of Transatlantic and/or India Subcontinent (ISC) trade lanes.
  • Experience selling international ocean freight services, including FCL and LCL.
  • Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented approach to sales.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
