Job description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The Road Foreman will direct, instruct, assist, and supervise a large road crew with in the Road
Department, check methods and procedures, standards of performance, policies, discipline, and
safety of workers. Road department is charged with the maintenance of county roads utilizing a
variety of equipment and must have operating knowledge of all equipment used. Operate motor
grader, grading various base materials maintaining and establishing road profiles to grades and blue
tops. Hand operated tools are also utilized in the performance of this job. Employee must perform all
duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend jobrelated
meetings, be on-call, and perform other duties as assigned. Employee must comply with the
safety guidelines of the County and complete and pass a new-hire physical and drug screen. No
illegal drug use within the last three years. This position is subject to random drug and alcohol
testing. The Road Manager/ Sr. Superintendent, Road Manager, and Landfill Manager all have equal
authority to direct your work schedule at any time.
