Job description

WKS Restaurant Group is a dynamic, rapidly growing multi-concept franchise restaurant developer and operator, operating over 300 stores in 17 states. WKS is a licensed franchisee of El Pollo Loco, Wendy's, Denny's, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Blaze Pizza and Corner Bakery Café.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will provide general accounting support to our rapidly growing multi-concept franchise restaurants.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare weekly financial reports for stores summarizing revenue, labor, and food cost.
  • Record weekly inventory adjustments for store locations and distribute inventory reports to stores.
  • Record, report, and reconcile franchise royalties.
  • Post various journal entries in the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Review and produce the monthly accruals and financial statements for stores.
  • Ability to analyze P&Ls and discuss inquiries with operations.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Manage licenses and permits for all assigned locations. Ensure licenses and permits are renewed on time and monitor deadlines. Manage the accounting and journal entries for the licenses and permits monthly amortization. Post various journal entries in the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Compile quarterly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows) for managed and/or affiliated entities.
  • Perform quarterly inter-company reconciliations for managed and/or affiliated entities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1 - 2 years of accounting experience.
  • BS degree with an accounting major or emphasis.
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including the ability to create and manipulate pivot tables.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively use general ledger software
  • Ability to work within a team toward a common goal.
  • Sage 300 experience preferred
