Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate RN Program Manager to join our team at Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a leading provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in Vernon, Connecticut. As a RN Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of our Long-Term Care (LTC) and Short-Term Care (STC) operations, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care and services. Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the interpretation of nursing policies and ensures appropriate implementation
  • Supervise and coordinate activities to ensure continuity of nursing care, and provide education, mentoring, and corrective action as needed
  • Make rounds on nursing units to ensure maximum care and communicate with families as necessary
  • Respond to emergencies and provide medical oversight
  • Verify that all clinical changes are reported to the physician and verify physician orders
  • Secure pre-admission reports on new residents and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
  • Ensure all documentation on medical records is complete and accurate
  • Conduct chart audits and oversee schedules of physicians
  • Assume DNS/ADNS responsibility in their absence and charge nurse responsibility when necessary
  • Perform other related duties and attend meetings as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor/ Administrator and Director

Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum of three years of education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation, with at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including administration of medications
  • IV-line management certification preferred
  • CPR certified
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, with strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office and other office equipment

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day
  • Proper body mechanics required - bending, stooping, turning, stretching, and reaching above the shoulders are involved
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics/equipment that will enable these senses to function adequately
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
