What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Revenue Technology (RevTech) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a RevTech Specialist, you need a solid understanding of sales operations, CRM management, data analysis, and a background in business or information technology. Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, marketing automation tools, and relevant certifications (such as Salesforce Administrator) is often required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating across departments. These competencies ensure seamless integration of technology with revenue processes, driving business growth and operational efficiency.

How does a Revtech professional typically collaborate with sales, marketing, and IT teams to improve revenue processes?

Revtech professionals play a key role in bridging the gap between sales, marketing, and IT departments by implementing and optimizing technology solutions that streamline revenue operations. They often facilitate regular meetings, gather feedback from each team, and ensure data flows seamlessly between platforms like CRMs and marketing automation tools. This collaboration helps identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, and create unified reporting, enabling all teams to make data-driven decisions. Effective communication and a strong understanding of each department's objectives are essential for success in this role.

What is Revtech?

  • Performs routine Salesforce administration (users, objects, flows, validation rules, automation, and reporting) and aligns marketing automation logic with CRM processes
  • Monitors and troubleshoots cross-system integrations and data flows (API syncs, deduplication, latency) to maintain reliability and performance

YOU'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE:
  • 3-6+ years of experience in Salesforce Administration and/or Marketing Operations
  • Hands-on experience building automation in Salesforce (Flows, Process Builder), Pardot, Marketing Cloud, and/or Iterable
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data mapping, and system integrations
  • Proven experience troubleshooting cross-system data sync and automation issues
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to think holistically about marketing processes across multiple platforms and understand the 'why' for enhancement requests
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise designing and operating marketing automation and lifecycle programs in Salesforce, Iterable, Marketing Cloud, and Pardot (MCAE)
  • Applies customer journey, trigger-based messaging, lead scoring, and segmentation strategies to deliver targeted experiences at scale
  • Manages data ingestion, field mapping, and synchronization across CRM, CDP, and marketing platforms, including identity resolution and transformation logic

  • Measures and maintains campaign performance, funnel metrics, and attribution integrity across systems and reporting layers
  • Documents technical requirements, automation logic, and system configurations and supports enablement and user adoption
