Job Summary:
If you are a competitive, motivated, and hard-working person looking for a new opportunity in Account Management, Backyard Products has what you’re looking for. Backyard Products, an international leader in the residential backyard space including playsets, sheds, and structures, is looking for a National Account Manager to support and grow the Walmart business across both in store and eCommerce channels.
At Backyard Products, the National Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing business with Walmart, managing a pipeline of actionable growth initiatives, working closely with product development and marketing teams, and analyzing market trends to drive revenue and EBITDA growth. The National Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between Walmart and Backyard Products, helping strengthen retailer relationships and drive strategic business growth. Position includes a bonus plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Client/Buyer Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain relationships with Walmart buyers, merchants, replenishment teams, ecommerce contacts, and key decision makers
• Run regular meetings to understand Walmart’s needs and identify opportunities for incremental revenue growth
• Support both Walmart 1P and Marketplace growth strategies
• Lead line reviews, promotional planning, and category growth initiatives
Sales Strategy:
• Set, maintain, and monitor sales goals
• Develop comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and EBITDA targets
• Identify new and organic growth opportunities across Walmart stores and eCommerce
• Develop annual business plans and quarterly growth strategies
Analysis and Planning:
• Work closely with Product Development, Demand Planning, Marketing, and Operations teams to build effective product and promotional roadmaps
• Develop accurate sales forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and promotional plans
• Analyze Walmart performance metrics including sales trends, inventory levels, margin, conversion, and promotional effectiveness
• Utilize Retail Link and Luminate insights to identify opportunities and risks
Reporting:
• Prepare and present regular reporting on account performance to Management
• Prepare and execute PowerPoint presentations internally and externally
Qualifications amp; Skills:
Education:
• bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred
Experience:
• 5+ years of Walmart or omnichannel retail experience preferred
• Experience with Walmart Retail Link and/or Luminate strongly preferred
• Experience with Walmart Connect, WFS, or Marketplace preferred
• Experience in toys, outdoor, seasonal, home, or hardlines categories preferred
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, goal oriented, and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to travel overnight as needed
Work Schedule:
• The National Account Manager position at Backyard Products is expected to be in office 4 days a week to collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product development, and leadership teams. Overnight travel required as needed.
