Preferred Primary Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistantship in English
The graduate assistantship in English is a position that allows students to work in positions of tutoring, teaching, editing, and/or research, depending on programmatic needs. Students may receive training and give presentations at conferences in relation to these roles. They can work as tutors for SRSU's online Writing Center, serve as editors for SRSU's art and literature journal, The Sage, and teach freshman writing courses. Graduate assistants may teach under the supervision of a faculty mentor after they have accumulated 18 SCHs in the field of English.

This position is classified as Security-Sensitive and is thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094, which authorize employers to obtain and review criminal history record information for applicants.
