Principal Anaplan Solution Architect

Role Overview
The Principal Anaplan Solution Architect serves as a strategic partner to Finance and Human Resources, ensuring Anaplan is fully leveraged to support enterprise planning, workforce strategy, and data-driven decision-making. This role translates complex business needs into scalable technical solutions while aligning with enterprise architecture, data governance, and long-term planning goals. The position operates with high autonomy and regularly advises senior leaders on matters of significance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end Anaplan solution architecture across Workforce Planning and Workforce Management domains.
  • Define and maintain the overall architectural vision and standards for Anaplan across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for complex, enterprise-wide Anaplan implementations and integrations.
  • Lead modeling framework design, governance standards, and best practices while mentoring Lead Architects and team members.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Anaplan modules for Finance (headcount cost modeling, compensation planning, forecasting) and Human Resources (position management, hiring plans, attrition modeling).
  • Oversee solution architects and integration strategies with enterprise systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, and Snowflake.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Anaplan security models, role-based access, and domain-level controls.
  • Lead and mentor offshore and cross-functional teams through model development, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and maintain reporting and dashboard solutions using Anaplan and complementary tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Finance and Human Resources leadership, helping shape the enterprise planning roadmap.
Strategic and Technical Leadership
  • Act as a bridge between IT, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure planning platforms align with business strategy.
  • Contribute to the enterprise technology roadmap by evaluating trends in workforce planning, predictive analytics, and EPM platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and leading planning process innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance standards including GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
  • Lead change management efforts to support the adoption of new planning capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Ten or more years of experience with Anaplan including model development, solution architecture, ALM, and security configuration.
  • Proven experience supporting both Finance and Human Resources planning and analytics functions.
  • A strong understanding of financial planning, workforce management, and organizational design principles.
  • Experience integrating Anaplan with enterprise platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, and Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with integration tools including Anaplan Connect, APIs, Oracle OIC, Informatica, or MuleSoft.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with predictive modeling techniques and tools such as Python, R, or Azure Machine Learning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Anaplan Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner certification.
  • Experience with additional EPM platforms such as Oracle EPM, Oracle PBCS, Adaptive Insights, or SAP BPC.
  • A background in enterprise architecture, data strategy, or IT business analysis.
  • Experience working in agile delivery environments and managing product backlogs.
