Job description

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and client-focused Workday Extend Developer to join our consulting team. In this role, you will work directly with clients to gather and translate business requirements into scalable Workday Extend applications. You will serve as a subject matter expert on the Extend platform, bringing deep knowledge of its capabilities, design concepts, and integration points across Workday's product suite - including HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, Talent, and Prism.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with clients to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions

  • Design and develop Workday Extend applications following established best practices

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday Extend

  • Stay current with Workday's Extend roadmap and future product direction

  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

  • Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical design

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of hands-on Workday Extend development experience

  • Experience with Workday SOAP and REST APIs
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and experience building or working alongside AI agents

  • Proficiency in Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and Custom Reporting

  • Solid understanding of the Workday Business Process framework and Security Model

  • Working knowledge of Workday HCM and/or Workday FINs

  • Prior consulting experience with a track record of client-facing engagement

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging clients and stakeholders directly

  • Ability to listen to business needs and translate them into clear technical requirements

Nice to Have
  • Workday Integration or Reporting experience (Studio, EIB, BIRT, Prism Analytics)

  • Workday Extend Certification

  • Familiarity with Workday Prism and its data pipeline capabilities

  • Broad cross-functional exposure across HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, and Talent

  • Awareness of Workday's product roadmap and future Extend functionality
