Sales Development Representative (North America)Position Details

Position Title: Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Department: Sales
Division: Sales
Region: North America
Reports to: Director, SMB Sales NA
Direct Reports: None

About Buildxact

Buildxact is construction management software built specifically for residential builders, remodelers, and contractors. We help our customers estimate faster, win more work, and manage projects with confidence.

We're growing quickly across North America and are looking for curious, driven people who enjoy solving problems, learning new industries, and making a measurable impact.

The Opportunity

As a Sales Development Representative at Buildxact, you'll be responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities for our SMB Account Executive team across North America. Although this role is remote, you must be based in either the Austin, TX, or Atlanta, GA, area.

This isn't a traditional SDR role focused purely on activity. We care about outcomes.

You'll combine thoughtful outbound prospecting, buyer intent signals, AI-powered research, and meaningful discovery conversations to engage builders who are most likely to benefit from Buildxact.

In many cases, you'll conduct the initial discovery and may deliver an introductory product walkthrough before handing highly qualified opportunities to an Account Executive. Success is measured by both the number of qualified opportunities you create and the ARR those opportunities generate.

If you're naturally curious, enjoy experimenting, love learning what makes customers tick, and want to build a career in SaaS sales, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Execute multi-channel outbound prospecting campaigns across phone, email, LinkedIn, and video.

  • Prioritize outreach using intent data, trigger events, account research, and buying signals to focus on accounts most likely to convert.

  • Use AI-powered tools to accelerate account research, personalize outreach, prepare for conversations, and improve call quality.

  • Conduct structured discovery conversations to understand a builder's business, current processes, challenges, and goals.

  • Where appropriate, deliver an introductory Buildxact product walkthrough to validate fit before handing the opportunity to an Account Executive.

  • Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure seamless opportunity handoffs with complete discovery notes, qualification details, and customer context.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records in Salesforce and manage prospecting activities within Outreach (or similar sales engagement platforms).

  • Continuously test and improve messaging, sequencing, and outreach strategies while sharing insights with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Revenue Operations.

  • Report on pipeline activity, conversion rates, qualified opportunities, and sourced ARR.

  • Gather and share market intelligence, customer feedback, competitive insights, and Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) trends.

  • Clearly communicate Buildxact's value proposition in a way that resonates with builders and addresses their specific business challenges.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be successful in this role by:

  • Consistently generating qualified sales opportunities.

  • Contributing meaningful sourced ARR.

  • Delivering high-quality discovery that results in strong AE conversion rates.

  • Maintaining disciplined pipeline management and CRM hygiene.

  • Continuously improving outreach effectiveness through testing and data-driven learning.

  • Becoming a trusted partner to both our customers and internal sales team.

What You'll BringRequired
  • 1+ years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development, Lead Generation, or B2B sales (SaaS preferred).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn new industries, products, and customer personas.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating across teams.

  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce and sales engagement tools such as Outreach or similar.

  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to improve research, personalization, and productivity.

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions.

  • Experience within construction, trades, home building, or related industries.

  • Bachelor's degree (not required).

What Makes You Great

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Curious — You enjoy learning about customers, industries, and new technology.

  • Coachable — You actively seek feedback and apply it quickly.

  • Experiment-driven — You enjoy testing new messaging and finding what works.

  • Resilient — You stay motivated through high-volume outreach and rejection.

  • Customer-focused — You ask thoughtful questions and uncover real business challenges.

  • Collaborative — You work closely with AEs and cross-functional teams to improve results.

  • Self-motivated — You take ownership of your pipeline and consistently execute.

Working at Buildxact

Buildxact currently operates with a remote-first work model. From time to time, team members may be asked to attend in-person meetings or team events. Your manager will work with you to determine expectations based on business needs.

Career Growth

High-performing SDRs have opportunities to progress into roles such as:

  • Account Executive (SMB)

  • Business Development Manager

  • Customer Success Manager

Promotion into an Account Executive position is earned through sustained performance against qualified opportunity and ARR targets, demonstration of AE-level sales skills, and business need.

Health & Safety

All employees are responsible for contributing to a safe and healthy workplace by identifying, reporting, and helping control workplace hazards, and by promptly reporting any accidents or incidents.

Our Values

At Buildxact, our values guide how we work every day:

  • It's Yours to Nail
