Job description

Director of Digital Product

About Scale Media

Full-Time, Remote

Scale Media is a consumer goods company that builds and grows DTC wellness brands from scratch. Our portfolio includes Live Conscious, 1MD, and Essential Elements. Scale Media is a people-first company, with a mission to build science-backed wellness brands that help people live long, healthy, and happy lives.

We work remotely, with regular in-person lunches and team gatherings in LA.

The role

We're hiring a Director of Digital Product to lead the strategy, optimization, and operational performance of our ecommerce ecosystem across multiple wellness brands.

This role sits at the center of growth, customer experience, and ecommerce operations. You'll own the performance and evolution of our Shopify environments — from conversion rate optimization and subscription adoption to site operations, merchandising strategy, and platform infrastructure.

This is a high-leverage, hands-on role. We're not looking for someone who wants to manage from a distance. We want a builder-operator who can think strategically while staying deeply involved in experimentation, analytics, prioritization, and execution.

You'll partner closely with Growth, Creative, Analytics, Finance, and Operations teams, as well as external Shopify and tooling partners. Growth and Performance Creative will both inform the site testing pipeline; you'll help prioritize and lead execution. You'll report into Scale Media's Growth organization.

What you'll own

Website conversion strategy. CRO roadmap across landing pages, PDPs, checkout flows, upsells, subscription flows, and mobile experience. You'll define what gets tested, why it matters, and how quickly we can learn from it.

Shopify ecosystem management. Ownership of Shopify relationships, integrated tooling, platform infrastructure, and operational workflows connected to our ecommerce stack.

Experimentation systems. Building a rigorous testing culture around website performance, funnel optimization, merchandising, subscription adoption, and customer journey improvements.

Cross-functional execution. Partnering with Growth, Creative, Analytics, and Development teams to launch optimization initiatives and improve customer experience across the portfolio.

Analytics and reporting. Building dashboards and reporting frameworks that give visibility into funnel performance, experimentation outcomes, subscription trends, and ecommerce KPIs.

AI-enabled workflows. Architecting how AI tooling improves ecommerce workflows across testing, analysis, merchandising, and operations. Tools shift quickly; we're looking for someone who designs workflows and outcomes, and evolves the systems they build as the tooling moves.

Team leadership. Leading and developing a team spanning LP testing, performance copywriting, and SEO/GEO content strategy. Improving prioritization, accountability, systems thinking, and execution quality.

What success looks like

In year one, success means:

  • Improved site conversion rate across portfolio brands
  • Increased subscription adoption rate
  • Stronger AOV
  • Faster experimentation velocity
  • More reliable website operations and cleaner ownership structures
  • Improved mobile experience and funnel performance
  • AI-enabled systems that increase team leverage and operational efficiency
  • A stronger ecommerce organization with higher standards and execution quality

What we're looking for

Deep Shopify and DTC ecommerce experience. You've operated meaningful ecommerce businesses and understand the realities of scaling high-volume consumer brands.

Strong CRO instincts. You understand how to diagnose friction in customer journeys, prioritize tests, and improve conversion through both data and customer intuition.

Systems-oriented thinking. You naturally identify operational gaps, unclear ownership, and broken workflows and you know how to fix them.

Analytical rigor. You're highly comfortable with funnel analytics, experimentation frameworks, performance reporting, and ecommerce KPIs.

AI fluency at the architecture level. You can design AI-enabled workflows using whatever tooling best fits the job, and you stay current as that tooling shifts. Workflow design matters more than tool-name expertise.

Hands-on operator mentality. You're willing to stay close to execution and maintain craft credibility rather than delegating everything downward.

Experience leading teams. Ideally within fast-moving DTC brands where organizational complexity and operational ambiguity were part of the job.

7–10+ years of relevant experience. Strong candidate backgrounds include:

  • Ecommerce leaders at scaled DTC brands
  • CRO leaders from high-growth consumer companies
  • Shopify ecosystem operators with strong experimentation backgrounds
  • Ecommerce consultants or agency operators who've worked deeply inside consumer brands

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience in supplements, wellness, beauty, or consumer subscription businesses
  • Familiarity with ecommerce personalization and retention tooling
  • Experience leveling up junior teams
  • Deep understanding of subscription ecommerce economics
  • Experience scaling multi-brand ecommerce portfolios

What We Offer

  • Salary Rate: $150,000 - $180,000 (based on experience)
  • Excellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Life insurance
  • Fully remote, full time position
  • Monthly WFH stipend
  • Generous Paid Time Off program
  • Discounted Products
  • An amazing team to work alongside!
