Job description

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Masstron Producing Organization (MTMS) designs, develops, and produces products within the METTLER TOLEDO Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product families and serves in direct support of the Vehicle Scale Strategic Business Unit which develops and implements the strategic direction of the global vehicle scale product line. The Truck Scale Assembly team requires a safe working, detail-oriented assembler able to operate cranes, forklifts, and various hand tools to prepare product for customer orders. What you will do:

  • Assemble vehicle scale modules and assist in the loading of scale modules onto trucks for shipping.
  • Kit assembly and packing of accessories for vehicle scale orders and stock.
  • Accurately enter data into the ERP System (SAP) for shipping and production activities.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on machinery in work cell.
  • Accurately maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
  • Understanding and strictly adhering to all quality and hazardous material guidelines.
  • Perform daily activities safely with regards to self and others, as well as wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Actively participate in facility 5S and lean initiatives, as well as identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Safely operate fork trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Other duties and activities as required.
What You Need to Succeed
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard blueprints and other engineered documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with staplers, fixtures, pneumatic tools, and hand tools (hammers, torque wrench, crow bars, etc.).
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Ability to safely operate Jib and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections on own work and the work of others based on set expectations.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability and drive to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on details.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work overtime when required (some on weekends).
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
