Job Description:

FormFactor is looking for a curious and motivated Research & Development Intern to join our R&D team. This role is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early career engineer who enjoys hands-on work, learning through experimentation, and solving real engineering problems. You'll gain practical experience working with advanced tools and processes while contributing to meaningful technology development.

What You'll Do

  • Support hands-on experimentation in a development environment.

  • Assist with laser micromachining experiments and process optimization.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.

  • Perform complex, automated, metrology and analyze results.

  • Contribute to earlystage process development and improvement efforts.

  • Collaborate with other engineers to solve technical challenges.

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency with Python for data analysis & automation.

  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

  • Handson experimental experience (academic labs, coursework, or projects are welcome).

  • Ability to work carefully with physical hardware and experimental setups.

  • Good communication skills and a strong desire to learn new skills and tackle new challenges.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience with laser machining.

  • Familiarity with GCode, CNC machines, or motion control systems.

  • Exposure to manufacturing, process engineering, or hardware development.

This role in Livermore, California pays between $37.15 and $48.77 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
