We are seeking an inspiring and motivated Regional Operations Director to oversee approximately 7-10 dialysis centers and a team of 200+ teammates across a dual-market portfolio (Houston and West Texas). This role is based in Houston and includes oversight of both local Houston clinics and the West Texas region. As a Regional Operations Director (ROD), you will provide strategic and tactical leadership, counsel, and direction to field management to ensure safe, efficient, therapeutic, and ethical patient care. This role carries complete accountability for an estimated $30M-$50M P&L.

Location: Houston, TX (Base Location Required) Geographic Scope: Houston clinics and the West Texas Market (Midland, Odessa, Lubbock, and San Angelo).

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements: This unique role requires a leader based in Houston who will manage a combined portfolio of local and remote clinics.

  • Portfolio: Oversight of clinics in both the Houston area and the West Texas region (including Midland, Odessa, Lubbock, and San Angelo).

  • Travel Expectation: Monthly travel to the West Texas region is expected. Typically, a solid 3 days are needed to visit all clinics within the West Texas portfolio.

  • Future Growth: Expected to eventually support additional Central or Southeast Houston clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of approximately 10-12 direct reports, fostering a "powerhouse" culture dedicated to quality and compliant patient care.

  • Strategic Growth: Identify and develop strategic growth opportunities, monitor division performance, and partner with the Divisional Vice President or SVP to develop competitive strategies aligned with DaVita's mission.

  • Operational Excellence: Address top growth priorities and patient census; lead successful operational conversions for acquisitions.

  • Financial Accountability: Full P&L responsibility; manage labor budgets, financial revenue growth, and contract management.

  • Performance Metrics: Review and analyze gaps in service excellence, policies, and procedures; identify issues and implement proactive solutions to drive key metrics and clinical outcomes.

  • Market Awareness: Maintain expert knowledge of the competitive landscape; proactively assess SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) for the division.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in multi-site operational leadership (healthcare experience preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large-scale P&L ($30M+).

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing 10+ direct reports and large frontline teams.

  • Ability to travel monthly for multi-day site visits.

Additionally, this position identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities, monitors division performance, and works closely with Divisional Vice President or SVP to develop competitive strategies in alignment with DaVita's mission and values. Position has budget and P&L accountability.

This position is a key member of DaVita's field management team.

  • Manage financial and revenue growth, operations, and labor management, contract management, and clinical outcomes within the assigned division facilities.

  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of competition; proactively assess related SWOT (division strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats).
