Job description

About Kiddom
Kiddom is transforming K-12 education by bringing high-quality curriculum, instructional tools, and student analytics together in one coherent system. We are building Learning Intelligence Technology (LIT), a new category that gives educators the infrastructure to plan, teach, assess, and respond to student needs. With Kiddom, educators spend less time managing administrative burden and more time delivering meaningful student instruction. Kiddom helps schools and districts deliver more equitable, effective, and adaptive learning experiences.
About the Role
Kiddom is seeking a highly organized and systems-minded Print Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end production of our K-12 print materials.
This role is responsible for ensuring our print products move efficiently from finalized digital content through final printer release. You'll manage production schedules, vendor relationships, cover creation execution, quality assurance, NIMAC submissions, print issue coordination, and final release while partnering across Content, Editorial, Product, Supply Chain, Customer Success, and Operations.
Beyond running day-to-day production, you'll help modernize how the work gets done by improving workflows, increasing automation, leveraging AI where appropriate, and reducing manual effort across the print production lifecycle.
If you enjoy building operational excellence, solving complex workflow problems, and bringing order to fast-moving, cross-functional work, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do...
Own Print Production
  • Manage multiple concurrent print programs from digital content lock through printer release.
  • Build and maintain production schedules, milestones, and release plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, external vendors, and printers.
  • Ensure student editions, teacher editions, translated materials, samples, and print packages are delivered accurately and on schedule to the supply chain team.
  • Proactively identify production risks and drive resolution.

Own Process Excellence
  • Ensure Kiddom's established print production, quality assurance (QA), and errata processes are executed consistently.
  • Manage print file versioning, approvals, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate cover production from request through final approval.
  • Manage NIMAC submissions and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Track print issues and coordinate corrections through established workflows.
  • Maintain accurate production dashboards and reporting.

Improve the System
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive production tasks.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve production tools and workflows.
  • Leverage AI and automation to improve quality assurance, metadata validation, and document comparison.
  • Reduce manual work through improved systems and operational efficiencies.
  • Recommend scalable solutions that improve speed, quality, and visibility.

What we're looking for...
  • 3 - 5+ years managing print production, publishing operations, or production project management.
  • Experience coordinating multiple complex publishing projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of print production, prepress, QA, version control, and vendor management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience using project management platforms such as Jira, Airtable, Smartsheet, Workfront, or similar.
  • Experience improving operational processes through automation or technology.
  • Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Bonus:
  • K-12 educational publishing experience.
  • Experience managing accessibility or NIMAC submissions.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign workflows, or print preflight tools.
  • Familiarity with AI, workflow automation, Google Apps Script, Python, APIs, or similar technologies.

What success looks like:
  • Print products ship on schedule with minimal production issues.
  • Print workflows are consistently executed across teams.
  • Covers, print files, and NIMAC submissions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Print issues are resolved quickly with clear ownership and visibility.
  • Automation reduces manual work and improves production quality over time.

What we offer
  • Full time permanent employees are eligible for the following benefits from their first day of employment:
  • Competitive salary
  • Meaningful equity
  • Health insurance benefits: medical (various PPO/HMO/HSA plans), dental, vision, disability and life insurance
  • 401k plan
  • One Medical membership (in participating locations)
  • Flexible vacation time policy (subject to internal approval). Average use 4 weeks off per year.
  • 10 paid sick days per year (pro rated depending on start date)
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid bereavement leave
  • Paid family leave after birth/adoption. Minimum of 16 paid weeks for birthing parents, 10 weeks for caretaker parents. Meant to supplement benefits offered by State.
  • Commuter and FSA plans

Equal Employment Opportunity Policy
Kiddom is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, transgender status, national origin, citizenship status, uniform service member status, pregnancy, age, genetic information, disability, or any other protected status in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
