Role: Podcast Studio Producer
Contract Type: Full-time, 12 month rolling contract
Location: Remote, but ideally in Washington, DC
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (dependent on experience), + Benefits Package including 401k and Flex 125 plans
Interview Process: 3-stage (Virtual and Face-to-face)

Exciting new opportunity has arisen on a fantastic client site for an experienced Podcast Studio Producer to be responsible for the end-to-end technical and creative management of live and recorded podcast productions.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role demanding precision, professionalism, and the ability to operate complex broadcast technology while simultaneously ensuring an outstanding experience for on-air guests, including senior executives and high-profile VIPs.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical broadcast expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills, thriving under pressure in a live studio environment.
Key responsibilities:
  • Operate and manage the vMix live production system for multi-camera podcast recordings and live streams
  • Configure and maintain vMix templates, scenes, transitions, and overlays tailored to each show
  • Monitor stream health across all platforms (YouTube Live, LinkedIn, etc.) and troubleshoot in real time
  • Manage stream keys, encoders, and ingest settings to ensure broadcast-quality output
  • Set up and maintain NDI feeds, virtual sets, and lower-thirds graphics within the vMix environment
  • Conduct pre-show technical checks and post-show recording archival and file management
  • Operate the studio mixing console (digital/analog) during live recordings and live streams including Dante protocol
  • Set levels, apply EQ, compression, gating, and reverb to achieve professional broadcast-standard audio
  • Manage multiple microphone inputs (lavalier, condenser, dynamic) and ensure clean, clear audio for all guests
  • Monitor and troubleshoot audio in real time, resolving feedback, interference, or signal issues during broadcasts
  • Coordinate with post-production for audio clean-up, mixing, and mastering of final episode deliverables
  • Maintain and calibrate all audio equipment including microphones, headphones, DI boxes, and patch bays
  • Operate and switch between multiple studio cameras (PTZ and manned) during live recordings
  • Direct camera movements, framing, and shot selection to complement the flow of each episode
  • Configure camera settings (white balance, exposure, colour profiles) for consistent studio aesthetics
  • Manage recording media and ensure all footage is properly labelled, backed up, and delivered
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for high-profile guests, senior executives, and VIP interviewees
  • Brief guests on studio protocols, microphone technique, and on-camera best practices before recording
  • Develop and maintain production runsheets, technical riders, and show templates
  • Collaborate with producers, hosts, editors, and marketing teams to ensure seamless episode delivery

Skills and experience:
  • Calm under pressure - able to manage live technical issues without disrupting the on-air talent
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills - warm, professional, and confident when engaging with high-profile guests
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail in both technical setup and scheduling
  • Self-motivated and proactive - takes ownership of the studio environment and continuously improves processes
  • Proven experience operating vMix in a live broadcast or studio production environment
  • Hands-on audio engineering experience with both analogue and digital mixing consoles
  • Strong multi-camera production skills, including PTZ camera operation and live switching
  • Experience working with and managing VIP or senior-level guests with professionalism and tact
  • Strong understanding of broadcast signal flow, video encoding, and streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, NDI)
  • Experience with Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar DAW software for post-production audio editing
  • Familiarity with podcast hosting platforms (Buzzsprout, Spotify for Podcasters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lighting design and operation within a studio environment
