What is a Remote Sports Podcast?

A remote sports podcast is an audio or video program focused on sports topics, recorded and produced by hosts and guests who participate from different locations, rather than a traditional studio. These podcasts cover sports news, interviews, analysis, and commentary, all facilitated through online communication platforms. The remote format allows for greater flexibility, enabling collaborations with guests and experts worldwide and often resulting in more diverse and timely content. Listeners can access these podcasts on various streaming platforms or podcast apps at their convenience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Sports Podcast Host, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Sports Podcast Host, you need a deep knowledge of sports, strong verbal communication skills, and experience in content creation or journalism. Familiarity with audio recording and editing software such as Audacity or Adobe Audition, and experience with podcast distribution platforms are typically required. Creative thinking, adaptability, and the ability to engage audiences remotely distinguish outstanding hosts in this role. These skills are crucial for producing compelling content, maintaining listener interest, and ensuring technical quality in a remote environment.

What are some common challenges faced by hosts of a remote sports podcast, and how can these be addressed?

One common challenge for hosts of a remote sports podcast is maintaining clear communication and engaging discussion when team members are not in the same physical location. Technical issues such as audio lag or connectivity drops can disrupt the flow, so investing in reliable equipment and using specialized recording platforms is crucial. Additionally, coordinating schedules across different time zones can be tricky, making effective planning and the use of shared calendars essential. Building chemistry with co-hosts virtually takes time, but regular video calls and pre-show meetings can help foster a strong team dynamic.

Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox CorporationUnder the FOX banner, we produce and distribute content through some of the world's leading and most valued brands, including: FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment, FOX Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.JOB DESCRIPTION

Supercast powers premium subscriptions for the world's top podcasts and creators. We help creators like Huberman Lab, This American Life, Peter Attia, and My Favorite Murder build direct relationships with their audiences and generate recurring revenue through exclusive content and community.

Following our recent acquisition by Red Seat Ventures (a Fox Corp. company), Supercast is entering a new phase of investment and expansion. Building on our success with podcast subscriptions, we're evaluating a broader toolkit for podcast-first creators, as well as new ways for creators to engage and monetize their audiences.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Creator Partnerships Lead to help grow the next generation of creators building subscription businesses on Supercast.

This role is equal parts relationship builder, dealmaker, and strategist. You'll work directly with creators and networks to help them launch or migrate their paid memberships to Supercast.

The ideal candidate understands the creator economy, podcasting, and digital media, and thrives in a role where success comes from building trust with creators and helping them see the long-term opportunity of direct audience relationships.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The full creator partnership lifecycle from first conversation through signed deal and launch

  • Leading a two-person acquisition pod with a Creator Partnerships Specialist to source and develop creator opportunities. Together, you'll operate as a two-person pod responsible for sourcing, nurturing, and converting high-quality creators.

  • Running discovery conversations with creators and advise on subscription strategy, pricing, and launch approach

  • Closing partnerships with creators launching new memberships or migrating from platforms like Patreon, Substack, or Apple Podcasts

  • Building relationships with podcast networks, talent managers, and creator agencies to generate opportunities

  • Reporting on pipeline health, deal progress, and revenue forecasting

  • Partnering with Creator Success and Product teams to ensure smooth launches and strong early creator performance

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Creator partnerships experience. 5+ years experience in partnerships, sales, creator relations, or business development. You speak Creator and know how to drive a sales pipeline.

  • Tact + Timing. You know how to approach high-profile creators (and their teams) with class. You understand timing. And you know the difference between persistent and pushy.

  • Strategic thinking. Strong consultative selling skills and ability to advise creators on membership strategy, funnels, marketing and launch messaging.

  • Analytical mindset. You're cozy with spreadsheets, for example to show a creator how much their projected earnings, or to model Supercast risk/return on a creator guarantee.

  • Clarity from Ambiguity. You know that ambiguity kills deals and marshall all your resources to keep moving the ball forward, whatever it takes

HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS

  • Consistent pipeline of high-quality creator opportunities sourced through outbound and partnerships

  • Strong conversion from discovery conversations to signed and launched creators

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT SUPERCAST

  • You'll be a dealmaker among podcasters, executives, talent agents and all players in the ecosystem - and be at the heart of a movement that empowers podcasters to earn money directly from their fans.

  • Backed by Red Seat Ventures (a Fox Corp. company), we're a mission-led team that cares deeply about the customers that we serve, the way we build a product and a passionate team culture where we can do our best work together.

  • You'll join a tight-knit, ambitious team building what we believe will become the operating system for podcast-first creator businesses.

  • We're a remote-first company with most team members across North America. (Your primary work window should be Pacific - Eastern Time.)
