Remote Golf Media information

How does working remotely as a Golf Media professional affect collaboration with other team members and industry contacts?

As a Remote Golf Media professional, you'll often collaborate with editors, writers, photographers, and marketing teams through digital communication tools like Slack, Zoom, or project management platforms. While remote work offers flexibility, it can also require extra effort to maintain clear communication and build relationships within the team and with external partners such as golf courses, athletes, and sponsors. Regular virtual meetings and effective use of shared documents are essential for staying aligned on content schedules and creative vision. This setup allows you to contribute to media projects from anywhere, but success relies on proactive communication and strong organizational skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Golf Media professional, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Golf Media, you need a solid understanding of golf, strong storytelling abilities, and experience in media production or journalism, often backed by a relevant degree. Familiarity with digital editing tools, content management systems, and social media platforms is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help you engage audiences and collaborate with remote teams. These skills are crucial for producing compelling golf content that resonates with fans and meets the demands of a dynamic, digital-first media landscape.

What are remote golf media jobs?

Remote golf media jobs involve creating, editing, or managing content related to golf from a remote location, rather than working onsite at a golf course or media office. These positions may include roles such as writers, editors, social media managers, video producers, and broadcasters who focus on golf news, tournaments, player interviews, and instructional content. The work typically involves using digital tools to produce articles, videos, podcasts, or social media posts for golf publications, websites, or broadcasting networks. Remote golf media professionals collaborate with teams virtually and use online platforms to distribute their content to golf fans around the world.

Job description

Job Description
Social Media Specialist (Short-Form Video / Golf Media), Remote, Full-time, USA consumer experience and based. reporting to the Head of Media Production, we're leading a confidential search for a hands-on Social Media Specialist to help build one of the fastest-growing digital golf media businesses in the world. This role sits at the intersection of performance content, culture, and distribution.
You live in short-form video. TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts are second nature to you. You understand hooks, pacing, music selection, captions, and why one edit takes off while another goes nowhere.
Just as important: you genuinely love golf. You watch YouTube golf the way other people watch Netflix. You care about instruction, entertainment, personality, and how to blend all three without producing generic golf content.
What you will be doing
  • Creating, editing, and publishing daily short-form vertical video
  • Shooting original content when required (on-course, range, studio, behind-the-scenes)
  • Re-cutting long-form and archive footage into platform-native formats
  • Testing trends, formats, AI tools, and new editing workflows quickly
  • Writing captions that drive reach, watch time, and engagement
  • Iterating based on performance data, not opinions

What matters
  • A strong reel or body of short-form work (degree not required)
  • Advanced vertical editing skills (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut etc)
  • Deep platform fluency and cultural awareness
  • High output, strong taste, minimal hand-holding
  • A real obsession with golf (playing experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with, or interest in learning, AI tools or programming environments such as Claude Code is a bonus

Compensation
Base salary: USD $65,000 to $90,000 (negotiable) + employment benefits and progression opportunities available based on output and impact
Additional note
If you happen to be a proven Executive Assistant who also matches this profile, with genuine golf interest and strong short-form video editing capability, please apply to this advert or to the Executive Assistant role listed on our website.
The upside
This role starts with execution, but the ceiling is high. You will work closely with elite instructors and creators, influence the creative direction of the brand, and help define how modern golf content reaches millions of players worldwide.
