Job description

Client Accounting Services Director

Remote E. Coast Client

If You're a CAS Leader Who Wants to Build Something

A CAS Leader Who Is Passionate About People

A Leader Focused on Delivering Solutions

We probably need to talk.

If you've led a Client Accounting Services or Outsourced Accounting team inside public accounting and you're ready for more influence, this opportunity deserves a look.

You wonโ€™t be walking into a broken practice that needs fixing.

Youโ€™ll be stepping into a healthy, growing CAS division with strong leadership support and real momentum.

For the right leader, this role offers something rare in todayโ€™s market: a clear path toward partnership while helping shape the future of advisory services inside a progressive CPA firm.

Overview

Benaiah Consulting Group has been engaged by a highly respected, people-first CPA and advisory firm to assist in identifying a Client Accounting Services Director. This firm blends the reputation and stability of an established regional firm with a forward-thinking mindset around technology, advisory services, people-first culture and client experience.

Their CAS practice is already successful and generating nearly $2M in annual recurring revenue. Now the firm is ready for a leader who can help take the practice to the next level.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a maintenance role. This is a practice-building leadership opportunity.

Key highlights include:

โ€ข Established CAS practice approaching $2M in recurring revenue

โ€ข 11+ professionals already on the team

โ€ข Strong internal support from firm leadership

โ€ข Opportunity to expand advisory capabilities and modernize delivery

โ€ข A clearly defined partner-track pathway

For the right leader, this role combines strategic influence, team leadership, and long-term upside.

The Opportunity

As CAS Director, you will serve as both a practice leader and a trusted advisor to entrepreneurial businesses across a range of industries. Clients range from emerging companies to established organizations generating $25M+ in revenue.

You will guide the team, strengthen client relationships, and elevate the firmโ€™s ability to deliver strategic financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers, seniors, and staff. Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Improve workflows, systems, and processes that support scalability and efficiency. Drive adoption of modern accounting technology, automation tools, and AI-enabled solutions.

Client Advisory

Serve as the senior relationship lead for key CAS clients. Provide strategic financial guidance including budgeting and forecasting, KPI development and reporting, cash flow planning, financial performance analysis, and management reporting. Help business owners translate financial data into clear, actionable decisions.

Practice Growth

Partner with firm leadership to expand the CAS practice. Identify opportunities to introduce higher-value advisory services such as outsourced CFO support, financial planning, and operational consulting. Support business development through referrals, networking, and strategic market visibility. Help evolve the practice toward value-based pricing and recurring advisory engagements.

Innovation & Technology

Champion cloud-based accounting platforms and modern workflows. Evaluate tools that improve reporting, automation, and client visibility into financial performance. Help ensure the practice remains ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving profession.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a consultative, advisory mindset. Candidates should bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience along with leadership experience in public accounting, CAS, outsourced accounting, or advisory services.

Successful candidates are confident in client-facing environments, comfortable developing teams, and energized by improving systems, processes, and service delivery.

Experience with cloud-based platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, BILL.com, GUSTO, or similar tools is preferred.

CPA strongly preferred but not a deal killer.

Most importantly, we are seeking someone who enjoys building relationships and helping businesses grow.

Who This Role Is Perfect For

โ€ข A CAS leader who wants autonomy with strong firm support

โ€ข A relationship-driven advisor who enjoys working with business owners

โ€ข A builder who enjoys improving systems, developing people, and scaling a service line

โ€ข Someone interested in a real partner-track opportunity

Who This Role Is Not For

โ€ข Someone who prefers staying behind the scenes reviewing financials

โ€ข Someone resistant to change, technology, or workflow improvements

โ€ข Someone looking for a static client book with limited leadership responsibility

Compensation & Incentives

The firm offers a competitive compensation structure designed to reward leadership and growth. Typical compensation for similar roles includes:

Base Salary: $160-210K depending on experience

Performance Incentives: Bonus tied to practice growth and leadership impact

Long-Term Opportunity: A clearly defined pathway toward partnership for the right individual.
