JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Access Specialist at Catalyst Physician Group will handle inbound and outbound patient communications via online chats, text messaging, emails, faxes, and phones. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in utilizing advanced technologies to process these communications in a professional, efficient manner. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage online service accounts including Healow, ZocDoc, patient portal, and webchat
  • Appointment scheduling, demographic updates, and routing messages to appropriate team members
  • Manage email requests from proxy accounts
  • Troubleshoot portal issues
  • Verify and update patient insurance information
  • Empathize with and coach patients in navigating the healthcare system
  • Meet performance metrics and service level criteria
  • Identify special needs and take proper steps to ensure patient concerns are addressed appropriately
  • Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and/or setting.
  • Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates.
  • Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Experience using medical EMR systems
  • Excellent customers service and communication skills
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced communication technologies
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a Primary Care office setting
  • Athena EMR experience
