Job description

CFO - Nonprofit
About All In One Accounting
All In One Accounting is a 7-time winner of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in the Twin Cities and one of the Best Places to Work in the Minneapolis area. Our purpose is simple: to make the lives of entrepreneurial and nonprofit leaders better. We do that by supporting profitable growth, protecting assets, and amplifying impact - bringing financial clarity and strategic leadership to the clients who need it most. We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means clear goals, strong accountability, and a team that executes with intention.
The CFO Role at All In One Accounting
At AIOA, the CFO is the single owner of the client relationship - fully and without ambiguity. Client realization, utilization, Net Promoter Score (NPS), retention, and growth all come back to you. You report to your Managing Director, who owns the practice system around you. Below you sits a team of Accountants and Controllers who execute the work and escalate relevant issues to you. You own the relationship, the outcomes, and the accountability that comes with both. In EOS terms, your Managing Director holds you accountable to your results - and you hold your team accountable to theirs.
About this CFO Role
We're seeking a strategic Manufacturing CFO to own a book of client relationships and provide executive-level financial leadership to small and mid-sized manufacturers. At AIOA, the CFO is the single owner of the client relationship - fully and without ambiguity. Client realization, utilization, NPS, retention, and growth all come back to you. You'll LMA a team of Senior Controllers, Controllers, Senior Accountants, and Accountants. The relationship, the outcomes, and the accountability are yours.
Now About You
We hire for hungry, humble, and smart - and our CFOs demonstrate those qualities at the highest level of individual client ownership. Hungry means you treat your book of business like it's yours - because it is. You stay current, push your clients to think bigger, and bring ideas that go beyond what was asked. Humble means you listen before you advise, build trust before you challenge, and invest in the people on your team as a genuine priority. Smart means you read organizations quickly, communicate with clarity and authority, and make complex financial strategy feel accessible. You own the relationship, the outcomes, and the accountability that comes with both.
LMA Accountability
In EOS, LMA - Leadership, Management, and Accountability - is the framework through which every leader fulfills their people responsibilities. As a CFO, your LMA accountability covers your delivery team: you are responsible for the relationships, metrics, and outcomes of every team member who reports to you. You develop your people, hold them accountable to quality and timeliness, and escalate issues proactively to your Managing Director.
How Business Development Works at AIOA
At AIOA, a dedicated Business Development team handles lead generation and pipeline management. As a CFO, your role in growth is to deepen the value AIOA delivers to your existing clients - identifying expansion opportunities, strengthening relationships, and ensuring every client on your book sees AIOA as indispensable. When BD surfaces a qualified prospect, you may be brought in as the subject matter expert to help close. But your primary growth accountability is your existing book.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Client Ownership - Realization, Utilization, NPS, Retention & Growth
• Own the client relationship including realization, utilization, NPS, retention, and growth for your full book of construction clients
• Serve as the primary strategic advisor and relationship lead for construction business owners and executives
• Identify and proactively address account risks - surfacing issues before they affect client satisfaction or retention
• Deliver accurate and timely financials on budget for every client on your book
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with each client's project pipeline and business growth
• Lead bonding capacity analysis, surety relationship management, and bonding strategy
• Build financial models for project financing, equipment acquisitions, and capital planning
• Provide strategic oversight of WIP management, cash flow forecasting, and backlog analysis
• Support M&A diligence, business valuations, and ownership transition planning
• Advise on construction contract structures, risk allocation, and financial terms
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients' external partners including lenders, surety brokers, CPAs, and attorneys
• Identify and act on expansion opportunities within your existing book
LMA - Leadership, Management, & Accountability
• LMA: responsible for team member relationships, metrics, and outcomes across your delivery team
• Interview and assess candidates for future roles within your team.
• Set the standard for work quality, client communication, and professional conduct across your team
• Develop the people on your team through regular feedback, coaching, and intentional growth conversations
• Hold team members accountable to quality, timeliness, and EOS commitments - clearly and consistently
• Escalate people issues proactively to your Managing Director - don't wait until problems compound
• Ensure capacity is managed well - your team is neither overwhelmed nor underutilized
Deliver CFO Services
• Deliver CFO services to your full book of nonprofit clients at the highest level of quality and strategic depth
• Ensure your delivery team has the direction, context, and support needed to deliver excellent work on every account
• Escalate relevant issues to your Managing Director proactively - not after the fact
Internal Responsibilities
• Complete all internal responsibilities including time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly Rocks
• Actively participate in All In One Accounting's Brand Ambassador program, representing our mission and values
• Uphold security practices to protect client assets and firm data effectively
Requirements
The Successful Candidate Will Have
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment strongly preferred
• 12+ years of progressive financial leadership with meaningful construction industry experience
• Proven success in executive-level financial advisory and client relationship ownership
• Deep expertise in construction finance including job cost accounting, bonding, project financing, and WIP management
• Demonstrated track record of LMA - leading and developing accounting teams
• Excellence in executive communication with construction owners, lenders, and surety brokers
• Strong familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) preferred
