Military Pay Analyst - Subject Matter Expert.

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a Military Pay Analyst. The Military Pay Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for military pay, ensuring timely and accurate processing of pay actions for U.S. Space Force (USSF) part-time participants in Annual Tour, Inactive Duty Training, and Active Duty for Operational Support statuses.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.


What will you do

The Military Pay Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for military pay, ensuring timely and accurate processing of pay actions for U.S. Space Force (USSF) part-time participants in Annual Tour, Inactive Duty Training, and Active Duty for Operational Support statuses.


Responsibilities:

· Process military pay transactions, including basic pay, allowances, bonuses, incentives, and special pays.

· Ensure accuracy and timeliness of pay actions and military/travel pay reimbursements.

· Process pay-affecting transactions via WebDMO.

· Interpret and apply DoD, DFAS, JTR, and other applicable pay policies and procedures.

· Provide customer service on pay entitlements and assist with problem resolution.

· Coordinate with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) and the Enterprise Travel Management Office (ETMO) on complex pay issues and system discrepancies; submit and track cases through the Case Management System (CMS).

· Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial management regulations; support inspections, audits, and readiness requirements.


Requirements:

· Serves as a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of business and/or financial operations occupations.

· Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

· Bachelor's degree in a field related to the tasking (e.g., finance, accounting, business administration, or related discipline).

· Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must meet background investigation requirements to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities.

· Working knowledge of the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and DAFI 65-series regulations.

· Required systems experience: WebDMO (pay-affecting transactions); Case Management System (CMS) for DFAS case submission and tracking; and familiarity with the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS).


Preferred Qualifications:

· Direct U.S. Air Force (USAF) military pay experience is strongly preferred and considered the most valuable form of related experience.

· Experience supporting Reserve Component or part-time participant pay actions.

· Prior experience coordinating directly with DFAS and ETMO.


Work Authorization/ Clearance:

· Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must meet background investigation requirements to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities.
