California Civil Litigation Paralegal - Business, Trust, Probate, Real Estate

We are a growing civil litigation firm based in Lafayette, California, seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to become an integral member of our litigation team.

Our practice focuses primarily on business litigation, trust and probate disputes, real estate litigation, and other complex civil matters. We are looking for someone who enjoys managing litigation files, keeping cases moving forward, and serving as a trusted resource for attorneys throughout the litigation process.

This is a remote position that offers significant responsibility. Compensation:

$75,000 - $95,000 yearly depending on experience


Responsibilities:

As our Civil Litigation Paralegal, you will play a key role in managing cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage litigation files through all phases of civil litigation

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and trial preparation documents

  • Prepare filings in California state and federal courts

  • Monitor litigation deadlines, statutes of limitation, and court calendars

  • Coordinate document preservation, litigation holds, and electronic case files

  • Prepare and respond to written discovery

  • Organize exhibits and evidence for mediation, arbitration, depositions, and trial

  • Schedule depositions, expert meetings, and court appearances

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda as requested

  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors

  • Assist attorneys with litigation strategy, case management, and procedural requirements

  • Help maintain efficient litigation workflows and identify opportunities to improve case organization

  • Perform additional litigation support duties as needed


Qualifications:

We are seeking a seasoned litigation paralegal who is confident managing complex civil litigation matters and can work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience in a law firm

  • Extensive experience managing litigation matters from filing through trial

  • Thorough knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and deadlines

  • Experience with California state and federal court filings

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to anticipate case needs, solve problems proactively, and work with minimal supervision

  • Comfortable collaborating with attorneys at varying stages of their careers and contributing to a positive team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate

  • Experience in business litigation, trust and probate litigation, and real estate litigation

  • Experience preparing matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial

  • Familiarity with modern litigation technology and electronic filing systems
