Remote Level 2 It Support information

What is a remote level 2 IT support?

Remote Level 2 IT Support professionals provide technical assistance to users by resolving more complex IT issues that cannot be solved by Level 1 support. They work remotely to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems, often using remote access tools and advanced diagnostic methods. These specialists may also escalate unresolved issues to higher-level engineers, maintain documentation, and contribute to system improvements. Strong communication skills and in-depth technical knowledge are essential for this role.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote level 2 IT support?

To excel as a Remote Level 2 IT Support specialist, you need advanced troubleshooting skills, strong knowledge of operating systems and networks, and usually a relevant IT degree or certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Windows Support. Familiarity with remote desktop tools, ticketing systems, and diagnostic utilities is essential for resolving complex user issues. Outstanding communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help build trust and efficiently assist users remotely. These competencies ensure timely resolution of technical problems, minimize downtime, and maintain high levels of user satisfaction in a distributed work environment.

What challenges do remote level 2 IT support professionals face and how can they address them?

Remote Level 2 IT Support professionals often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting complex technical issues without physical access to devices, managing multiple support tickets simultaneously, and communicating clearly with end-users who may have varying levels of technical knowledge. To address these challenges, it's important to leverage remote diagnostic tools, maintain organized ticket management, and develop strong communication skills to guide users through solutions. Regular collaboration with Level 1 and Level 3 support teams also helps ensure escalated issues are resolved efficiently and knowledge is shared across the team.

Job description

Overview
We need an ambitious, curious leader to become a Project Analyst on the Technology Team to help drive the biggest change in the company's history.
The Opportunity - Why Join
Are you ready to redefine how an entire industry engages with customers? At AAA Life we leverage technology to put human connection at the heart of what we do. If you are someone who thrives on purpose and wants to make a tangible difference in people's lives when it matters most, then join AAA Life who has the unique ability to access tens of millions of existing AAA customers powered by the strength of one of America's most trusted brands. We have embarked on a mission to double in size - Becoming one of the largest providers in the US. These facts showcase why we're the right choice:
  • On purpose: a leading professional services firm found that the commitment, empathy and dedication of employees at AAA Life was the highest across a benchmark of top US companies
  • On growth: we have the privilege to offer our products to tens of millions of Americans that are proud members of AAA
  • On making a difference: we serve Americans by delivering life insurance products that make a true difference for families during their hardest times, not wealth management instruments (more details on this during the interview)
  • On culture: USA Today named us 2025 top workplace nationwide. We believe the job of an insurance company is to do good. Our mission is to help our members during what is often the hardest times in their lives. We pick up the phone to people who have lost loved ones and offer our genuine support. That is why we will always put human connection at the heart of what we do - always being there to talk to our members person to person. We believe the job of an insurance company is to pay out. That is what insurance is for. Most of our members have real life policies - policies that bring peace of mind during life, and genuine support in the event of death. We are not here to chase the super-rich with annuities and wealth management products. AAA has been one of the most trusted names in America because it believes in providing the services that middle class Americans need.

Responsibilities
The Role
You will join a small, newly formed, and highly visible Transformation Office responsible for leading the company's most strategic, enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. These programs are complex, mission-critical, and backed by multi-million-dollar investments. As a key driver within the Transformation Office, you will translate strategy into execution-turning transformational vision into measurable outcomes and sustained business impact.
This is a high visibility Project Change Management Analyst role - serves as a central point of accountability for portfolio-level performance, financial transparency, and delivery insight across IT initiatives. It partners closely with initiative leads, Finance, and Centers of Excellence to consolidate financial and delivery data into consistent, executive-ready reporting, Steering Committees, and governance forums. The role ensures disciplined portfolio reporting across agile, waterfall, and hybrid efforts, proactively surfacing risks, dependencies, and performance gaps to enable informed decisions, strengthen governance, and drive value realization throughout the transformation.
The Next Phase
Our mission is to provide those services for as many people as we can. To achieve that we need to evolve. We need to boldly embrace innovation and technology. Your leadership will help us deliver on our mission together and achieve our transformation. At AAA Life, empathy and progress go hand in hand, creating a culture where bright ideas flourish and meaningful impact grows. If you are drawn to an environment that values purpose as much as potential, we invite you to join us. Because here, being there for people isn't just a promise-it is our driving force.
Position Responsibilities
  • Track and report on IT project performance, including actual vs spend, forecasted costs, delivery milestones, and KPI progress
  • Monitor financial performance across IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with budgets, forecasts, and expected value realization
  • Consolidate updates from Transformation Office, Initiative Leads (including Product Owners and Scrum Masters), Finance and COE Managers into executive-ready reporting
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate delivery risks, dependencies, and performance gaps
  • Prepare standardized metrics reports and dashboards for Steering Committee (SteerCo), Technology Leadership, and executive stakeholders to support governance and decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance to validate financial data, including capital vs. expense spend, labor, and vendor costs
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of reporting across the IT portfolio, including adherence to PMO standards and governance frameworks
  • Support reporting across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Participate in recurring forums (e.g., IT Transformation stand-ups, finance reviews) to surface insights and ensure alignment

Core Competencies - How You Will Contribute
