What is a remote law firm?

A Remote Law Firm job allows legal professionals to work from home or any location with an internet connection. Attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants utilize digital tools to provide legal services, conduct research, and communicate with clients. These roles offer flexibility while maintaining the same standards as traditional law firms. Remote law firms often use cloud-based case management systems, video conferencing, and secure document-sharing platforms.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive in a remote law firm?

Running a remote law firm requires a Juris Doctor degree, state bar admission, and expertise in legal research, case management, and client representation. Familiarity with virtual law practice platforms, secure communication tools, and document management systems is essential for effective remote operations. Strong organizational, communication, and self-motivation skills help remote legal professionals maintain productivity and foster client trust. These competencies are crucial for ensuring legal compliance, high-quality service, and efficient collaboration in a virtual legal environment.

How does collaboration work in a remote law firm setting?

In a remote law firm, team members typically collaborate using secure digital tools such as video conferencing platforms, cloud-based document systems, and legal case management software. Regular virtual meetings, shared calendars, and instant messaging help maintain communication and ensure that projects move forward smoothly. While you may not share a physical office, you'll interact frequently with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to coordinate casework, meet deadlines, and strategize for client matters. This remote structure offers flexibility but also requires diligent time management and proactive communication to succeed.

Job description

Our Story
TopDog Law is not your typical law firm. We're a nationally scaling personal injury firm built for impact and growth, growing the client experience end-to-end, from marketing and intake through litigation. We believe that world-class marketing, paired with exceptional legal talent and operations, creates better experiences and outcomes for clients and the business alike.
Over the past three years, we've grown 2-3x year over year, setting a new standard on the marketing side of the personal injury space and proving what's possible when strategy, speed, and execution align. Now we're applying that same discipline and innovation to firm operations, case management, and national scale, intentionally building the infrastructure, systems, and teams to grow without sacrificing quality, culture, or accountability.
We are a fully remote team that share trust, open communication, and a commitment to doing great work. If you love ownership, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and want to help build something exceptional, you'll feel right at home here.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an Account Manager to oversee and grow a portfolio of law firm partners, using data, critical thinking, and strong relationship management to drive performance and outcomes. In this role, you will own partner relationships end-to-end-from onboarding and performance management to identifying opportunities for growth and operational improvement. You'll leverage data to diagnose issues, hold partners accountable, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure strong case flow, client experience, and business results. This role is ideal for someone analytical, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What You Will Own
  • Manage a portfolio of law firm partners, developing a deep understanding of their performance, operations, and alignment with TopDog's model
  • Analyze key metrics (e.g., conversion rates, drop rates, case flow, attorney fees) to identify trends, diagnose issues, and drive performance improvements
  • Proactively identify risks or inefficiencies and address them before they escalate
  • Lead onboarding of new partners, clearly communicating TopDog's underwriting model, expectations, and processes
  • Evaluate potential new partners, assessing fit based on performance, operations, and client outcomes
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for partners, building strong, collaborative relationships while maintaining accountability to performance standards
  • Hold partners accountable through direct, data-driven conversations, including addressing underperformance and driving corrective action
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with intake, operations, legal, and business development teams to ensure smooth case flow and accurate reporting
  • Monitor case progress and partner decision-making to minimize operational and legal risk
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and outcomes
  • Take full ownership of your portfolio, making sound decisions independently and escalating when appropriate

What You Bring
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in account management, client success, partnerships, or similar roles
  • Experience managing performance metrics and driving outcomes through data
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and execute with speed

Preferred (Nice to Have):
  • Experience in legal, personal injury, or professional services environments
  • Experience in high-growth or high-volume organizations
  • Familiarity with underwriting models or referral-based business structures
  • Comfort building processes in evolving or startup-like environments

Who Thrives Here (Core Values)
We don't hire on resumes alone. We hire for competence, character, and mindset.
  • Embrace Change: Open to feedback, embracing change, and always asking "what's next?"
  • Committed: You care deeply, have your teammates' backs, and show up to build something lasting.
  • No-Ego Energy: Positive, professional, and solutions-oriented. Drama stays at the door.
  • Ownership: You do what you say, follow through, and treat the business like it's yours.
  • Fast & Hungry: You move with urgency, thrive under high expectations, and are motivated by growth and impact.

What We Offer
  • On Track Earnings: $100,000.00 and $150,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience (Remote, United States)
  • Eligible for performance-based bonus
  • Our job postings reflect the compensation range for the specific market and location of each role. Ranges vary by geography based on local market rates and cost of labor.
  • Benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, HSA, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, and parental leave.

Equal Opportunity Employer
We are an equal opportunity employer. Employment selection and related decisions are made without regard to age, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identification, or being a qualified disabled veteran or qualified veteran of the Vietnam era or any other category protected by Federal or State law.
