Job Description:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Director HR Business Partner in North America for our Insulation & Components business reporting to the North America VP Business Partner. The Director HR Business Partner is accountable for the overall HR contribution in close partnership with the factory HR Business Partners to deliver the strategic and operational HR roadmap of the Product Line. The role is remote based with travel to multiple sites in North America.

As a key member of the Business management team, the role will collaborate with management to set the people strategy, develop talent outcomes, support business goals and initiatives by overseeing and driving relevant people capabilities and organizational effectiveness in collaboration with the factory HR Business Partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting and implementing the HR roadmap for the product line in alignment with the global business unit and the North America HUB people strategy covering culture, competence, and organization.
  • Close partnership with the Factory HR Business Partners to align and oversee talent management, succession planning, and workforce development to meet organizational goals.
  • Ensuring people and organizational capabilities required in the mid-long term are understood and actioned and that the positions in the short term are adequately staffed to meet or exceed the annual business targets.
  • Build performance culture, KPIs, and targets to enhance business performance
  • Further build on the product line operating model and optimize organization structures and principles in line with required standards across the BU and HUB
  • Support in identifying development activities to build and improve competence in collaboration with the talent and learning team and to ensure a healthy and sustainable talent structure in the organization, including recruitment, identification and succession planning on business-critical roles, diversity and inclusion.
  • Utilize HR Analytics data to understand key organizational dynamics and to foster data-driven decision-making and action planning.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to the HR execution and share functional best practices and lessons learned across the Product Line
  • Manage/coordinate cross-product line HR projects/initiatives as needed
  • Establish network with the HR community to perform best practice sharing and benchmarking
  • Implement necessary measures and actions to facilitate change

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, labor law, organizational behavior or business-related field and a minimum 10 years of Human Resource Business Partner experience, including experience in manufacturing environment and in leadership positions.
  • Masters' degree an added advantage
  • Experience in a fast-paced, global, multinational matrix environment
  • Experience in Industrial relations / labor relations is a plus
  • Strong track record in organizational and talent development as well as capability building.
  • Result oriented and strategic mindset Initiative paired with strong communication (verbal/written) and influencing skills.
  • Ability to partner with senior managers
  • Flexibility and strong team working / collaborating
