We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy, growing operation in Raleigh, NC. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity supporting approximately 220 employees and 25 temporary employees in a fast-paced operation that runs 24/7.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, working directly with employees and leadership, and taking ownership of HR operations within a dynamic manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or similar environment.

The facility currently has an opening on the HR team and is looking for someone who can step in, learn the operation quickly, and provide consistent HR support across multiple shifts.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a hands-on HR resource for approximately 220 employees and 25 temporary employees.
  • Support employees and supervisors across multiple shifts in a 24/7 operation.
  • Partner with operations leadership to address employee relations, attendance, performance, and workplace concerns.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
  • Assist with investigations and employee relations matters, ensuring issues are handled fairly, consistently, and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Partner with managers on staffing needs, workforce planning, and employee retention.
  • Support performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist with benefits, leave, payroll-related questions, and other HR administration.
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of HR Generalist or similar HR experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, logistics, or another fast-paced operational environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple shifts, preferably in a 24/7 operation.
  • Strong employee relations and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound, consistent decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working directly with both hourly employees and management.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Strong computer and HRIS skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is more than an administrative HR professional. The ideal candidate will be strategic, approachable, consistent, and comfortable working in an operational environment.

You should be comfortable developing a structured approach to supporting employees across different shifts and schedules, while maintaining consistency when addressing employee relations and workplace issues.

Experience creating or working with block schedules, rotating shifts, or alternative work schedules is a plus.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Contract-to-Hire opportunity with long-term potential.
  • Opportunity to make an immediate impact within an established operation.
  • Support a workforce of approximately 220 employees.
  • Exposure to a 24/7, multi-shift environment.
  • Opportunity to partner closely with operations leadership.
  • Potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
  • Comprehensive hands-on HR Generalist experience across employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and HR operations.
