Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop the HR team, including setting priorities, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring accountability.
  • Serve as the primary HR partner to managers and leadership across multiple locations.
  • Oversee employee relations, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and terminations.
  • Own and oversee company-wide HR compliance, ensuring policies and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Manage FMLA, ADA accommodations, unemployment claims, required HR reporting, recordkeeping, and other employment compliance matters.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Oversee the Company's weekly payroll process, including payroll audits, timecard compliance, pay changes, deductions, and resolution of payroll issues.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration and serve as the primary HR contact for brokers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Serve as the Company's 401(k) Plan Administrator, overseeing eligibility, contributions, plan administration, compliance testing, audits, and required filings in partnership with plan vendors.
  • Partner with the Safety Department in managing workers' compensation claims, including employee communication, claim documentation, leave coordination, work restrictions, light duty, and return-to-work.
  • Maintain accurate employee information and employment changes within the Company's HRIS.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, and Finance on workforce matters, labor reporting, employee issues, and organizational needs.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, compensation, promotions, organizational changes, and workforce planning.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and other Company growth initiatives.
  • Maintain a visible HR presence across Company locations and build strong relationships with employees and managers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Previous experience managing or leading an HR team required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location and/or multi-state workforce strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing payroll required; weekly payroll experience preferred.
  • Experience with 401(k), benefits, and leave administration preferred.
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Experience partnering with Safety or Risk Management on workers' compensation claims preferred.
  • HRIS/payroll system experience required; ADP experience is a plus.
