Job description

Senior DevOps Engineer
Remote/Hybrid Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced, mission-driven Healthcare SaaS organization. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of our cloud-native platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will be a technical leader responsible for building and automating modern infrastructure, strengthening our CI/CD pipelines, implementing IaC at scale, and driving SRE best practices that support highly available, compliant healthcare systems.
This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Security, QA, and Product teams to deliver resilient cloud services in a regulated environment (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Design and implement multi-region, fault-tolerant architectures that support 24/7 SaaS healthcare operations.
  • Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent.

CI/CD & Automation
  • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
  • Automate repeatable processes, deployments, and operational tasks to increase reliability and reduce human error.
  • Implement end-to-end automated testing frameworks integrated into deployment workflows.

SRE & Reliability Engineering
  • Drive SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs/SLA management, observability, and proactive reliability improvements.
  • Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Lead major incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem processes.

Security & Compliance
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices, embedding security into CI/CD and infrastructure workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to ensure controls meet HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, NIST, and CIS requirements.
  • Manage secret stores, identity/access controls, certificate management, and vulnerability remediation.

Networking & Cloud Architecture
  • Architect and maintain cloud networking, including VPCs, Firewalls, WAFs, VPNs, load balancers, service meshes, and hybrid networking.
  • Support secure integrations between platforms, SaaS systems, and 3rd-party vendors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Software Engineering to enable rapid development while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Work with SRE, Security, QA, and Data teams to optimize performance, automation, and compliance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team standards, design reviews, and architecture discussions.

Required Qualifications
  • 6-10+ years of DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineering experience in production SaaS environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS required) and familiarity with Azure and GCP.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
  • Solid experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/GKE/AKS.
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation languages: Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
  • Deep knowledge of networking, VPC architectures, DNS, load balancing, and security controls.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (Healthcare strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps, cloud security, and zero-trust principles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in serverless technologies (Lambda, Cloud Functions, Azure Functions).
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud architecture or cloud-agnostic tooling.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD, Azure Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks: HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, NIST CSF.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE:
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, Dental and Vision benefits
  • 401k with Employer Match
  • Generous PTO plan
