Job description

VetsEZ is currently looking for a Technical Writer / Business Analyst for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal healthcare technology program. This role will support Agile delivery teams by developing technical and business documentation, facilitating requirements gathering, and translating stakeholder needs into actionable delivery artifacts. The candidate will work closely with product owners, engineers, QA teams, and government stakeholders across platform, integration, and workflow initiatives in a collaborative remote environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business, technical, and operational requirements from stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Produce clear and accurate documentation including user stories, process flows, SOPs, interface descriptions, release documentation, and training materials.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, interviews, and review sessions to capture and clarify business requirements.
  • Support backlog creation and refinement by translating stakeholder input into features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and maintain documentation for workflows, system behavior, data exchange processes, and operational procedures.
  • Support traceability, version control, and change tracking of documentation and requirements artifacts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and government teams to ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables.
  • Assist with stakeholder communications, reporting materials, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Review documentation for consistency, usability, quality, and compliance with project standards.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks and emerging challenges as required to support the team's goals and organizational priorities.
RequirementsEducation & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Information Systems, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, business analysis, requirements gathering, or related roles supporting technology projects.
Skills & Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience creating documentation for software delivery, APIs, integrations, operational procedures, and technical workflows.
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions and translating discussions into structured documentation and delivery artifacts.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to tailor content for technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple documentation streams and stakeholder priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
