What is a remote EMR implementation specialist?

A Remote EMR Implementation specialist is a professional responsible for setting up and integrating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for healthcare organizations, often working entirely remotely. Their duties include configuring software, migrating patient data, training staff, and providing ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition to digital records. They collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to customize the system according to the organization's workflow. Working remotely, they leverage virtual tools and support channels to facilitate the implementation process. This role requires strong technical, communication, and project management skills.

What are common challenges faced when implementing EMR systems remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote EMR Implementation professionals often encounter challenges such as coordinating with multiple stakeholders across locations, ensuring effective training for end-users, and troubleshooting technical issues without physical presence. To address these, clear communication protocols, robust virtual training sessions, and comprehensive support documentation are essential. Additionally, leveraging remote access tools and maintaining regular check-ins with client teams can help ensure a smooth rollout and user adoption.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote EMR implementation specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote EMR Implementation Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems, healthcare workflows, and a background in health informatics or IT, often supported by relevant certifications. Familiarity with specific EMR platforms (like Epic or Cerner), project management tools, and data migration software is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to train and support end-users remotely are standout soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure successful system adoption, minimize disruptions, and enable efficient collaboration across geographically dispersed healthcare teams.

Senior Manager, Implementation - Clinical Intelligence

About Reveleer
Reveleer delivers a unified platform spanning risk adjustment, quality improvement, clinical intelligence, and member management for health plans and provider organizations navigating the complexity of value-based care. Trusted by 80+ customer organizations nationwide, the platform integrates data, analytics, and intelligent workflow automation into one governed system designed to support traceable documentation across diagnoses, quality measures, and submissions. With regulatory expertise and transparent, human-in-the-loop AI at its core, Reveleer supports organizations working to advance care quality, strengthen documentation integrity, and sustain the operational readiness needed to navigate audits with confidence.
Join Reveleer in shaping the future of healthcare with AI! This is a groundbreaking opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager, Implementation (7+ years) to own and drive the success of our EMR implementation function within Clinical Intelligence. You'll own customer implementations from signature through go-live, working directly with sales, product, and customers to keep every EMR rollout on track.
If you're:
  • A structured operator who can build, sequence, and hold together a complex project timeline across multiple workstreams and stakeholders, including Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Product, Data Governance, and Clinical Operations
  • Comfortable owning the customer relationship during high-stakes go-lives, and confident communicating both progress and setbacks
  • Skilled at translating ambiguous, sales-stage information and technical requirements into a clear, actionable implementation plan
  • Fluent in the technical side of EHR integration, including FHIR, HL7, and RESTful APIs, and comfortable troubleshooting issues in real time
  • Energized by managing several concurrent EMR implementations at once, without losing sight of the details on any one of them
  • A proactive communicator who flags risk early and holds people accountable, internally and with the customer

Then you'll thrive in this role!
Here's what you'll do:
  • Partner with sales and the solution architect throughout the pre-sale process to fully understand each prospect's EMR environment, workflows, and requirements before the contract is signed
  • Own the customer implementation, building the project timeline after signature, sequencing dependencies, and establishing a firm go-live date as the engagement progresses
  • Secure and lead the kickoff meeting with each customer, setting expectations and establishing the working cadence for the engagement
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on implementation status, proactively communicating progress and escalating timeline risk internally to leadership and externally to the customer
  • Translate requirements gathered from recently signed customers into clear specifications for the product team, so nothing is lost in the handoff from sales
  • Guide EHR integration workflows, including FHIR and custom API implementations, across major EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and athenahealth, as well as third party integration platforms
  • Partner with engineering and data governance to validate data flows and ensure configurations align with customer workflows
  • Manage the Health Information Exchange (HIE) Delegation of Authority (DoA) process with prospects, coordinating the agreements and approvals needed to enable data connectivity ahead of go-live
  • Partner with sales and the solution architect to track every prospect in a close-to-signing stage, maintaining visibility into integration type, expected volumes, timing, workflow configurations and required development so the team can plan ahead of signature
  • Maintain a shared view of upcoming and in-flight implementations, surfacing capacity constraints and risks to leadership before they affect a timeline
  • Monitor and report on implementation performance, customer satisfaction, and team capacity metrics
  • Own continuous improvement of implementation processes, documentation, and internal knowledge sharing

Bonus points if you:
  • Have hands-on experience with user acceptance testing and software QA
  • Have worked in a healthcare organization involving clinical data exchange
  • Are familiar with HIE data-sharing agreements and the DOA process
  • Have managed ten or more concurrent enterprise implementations at once
  • Bring experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, or Jira
  • Have experience utilizing AI powered tools to improve productivity or efficiency in day-to-day work

Ready to make a difference in healthcare with AI? We're excited to hear from you!
What You'll Receive:
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) plan

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
